NEW MEXICO POOLS CONSTRUCTION

Horrible experience and still it continues. The contract was signed Oct. of 2007. It is now Nov. 2008 and they have not completed all the work that needs to be done. There were several screw ups along the way - all because they don't pay attention to detail and no one in the company seems to know what the heck anyone else it doing or has done. There is not enough room to tell all the small details - like our phone line getting cut on the first day of work and not having it hooked back up for 8 months. The 6-8 week job we were promised with water by Christmas of 2007 started in October with the subcontractor starting the retaining wall. He built a great wall, but he under bid the price - he charged NM Pools and after working for 3 weeks or so he stopped showing up (took 3 months to get him back to finish the job). Meanwhile, Gino our salesman would not get someone else to finish the wall. The pool was dug in Dec. 07 - but was not done deep enough into the earth due to another long story - NM pools had to rebuild a different wall between us and our neighbor's house to fix this problem. They had their wall guy Darryl (rude, sloppy!) finish this wall. 8 months later my neighbor and I are both waiting for him to come back any clean up his mess. NM pools had to give us a lot of concrete because of all the things that went wrong with that mess. We finally had water put in the pool in mid July '08. You should see the stairs leading to the pool. All are crooked, lumpy, angle, uneven. The owner, Manual, with 25+ yrs. of experience built those. We have called 2-5 times per week to get them out and they always put us on the list and never show up. We have paid all but about $4,000 and we had a verbal agreement with Robert (an owner) that we were done paying any more money to them. We could not get anything in writing from any of them ever and now he says the conversation never happened. They are calling for payment. Things still undone/broken: our new driveway was cracked badly and sidewalk from cement truck, mess left in 2 neighbors' yards, footing of wall exposed and hole with neighbors dirt and water coming through, drainage system for pool runoff not completed, concrete work not done in spots, and cool deck not completely finished. They sell you well but can't deliver. A friend of mine has a friend putting in a pool - she is also using NM Pools. Good thing for her - the gal's dad is bilingual and can communicate with the workers and have them fix all their sloppy work along the way. DO's: get a finish date in writing and anything else they say they are going to do! And don't pay in advance - make them earn your trust.

Did not go well from the outset. Wanted to redesign the pool from its original configuration. Would not/could not read the architects drawings. Pool had to be rebuilt in part more than once to conform to measurements and location and poor construction methods. Still not exactly correct. Poor scheduling, lots of excuses, argumentative when confronted with errors or omissions. Pool was contracted August 2007. Still not complete. Had to contract outside services to complete some hardware. Excuses, excuses!

THEY CAME OUT THAT SAME DAY TO DO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY ALSO FIXED A THIN SPOT THAT COULD BE A LEAK SOON. THEY WERE VERY KIND AND HONEST PEOPLE WHO DO LITTLE EXTRA THINGS.
