Mountain West Sales was recommended to us by our realtor and also from another source. We called and spoke with General Manager, Mark. He came out the next day. We was very prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and helped us with understanding the operation of our gas fireplaces. We will not hesitate to use them in the future and recommend them for prompt, efficient service.

When I went to look at the fireplace I could have fell over; the fire box looked liked I went down to Home Depot and bought a box and scooted it into place. I could see clearly a large label on the left side of the firebox and the right side had wires or cords exposed, just hanging out. I was shocked! I called and was told that they would come look at it. Bart came back with a can of black spray paint and sprayed the label so I could not see it and tucked the wires in so I could not see them-why wasn't this done before? After Bart left there was residue of black paint all around the floor. Then the glass doors would not open and close, they came back and fixed them. In the end I hired a contractor to place tile around the fireplace to cover up the space between the firebox and the wall. I'm upset with this company because they specialize in firplaces. I was told the firebox I was to purchase would fit, it really didn't. I felt the way the fireplace was left was so unprofessional. They didn't seem to feel bad about the sloppy work and there was never a mention of a refund. I'm sorry to say I would not use this company again.

"I have to take issue with several of the member's complaints. First, the member says that the fireplace insert that we installed looked like something from Home Depot. We installed the same unit that she saw and selected in our showroom. It is a popular model from Heatilator, one of the oldest and best fireplace manufacturers in the industry. The insert did fit in her fireplace, but the final position of the insert wasn't to her satisfaction, which we promptly addressed. When the doors did not work to the member's satisfaction, we also promptly addressed that issue. After each visit to rectify problems brought to our attention by the member, she expressed satisfaction with our solution. It is unfortunate when a transaction doesn't go smoothly, but we do everything possible to ensure that our customers are satisfied and happy with the product and service they receive. An appointment was made for a service call within two days of the call. The technician (Mark) arrived 15 minutes early, quickly diagnosed and repaired the unit. He also provided advice on how to avoid the problem in the future (by not shutting off the gas supply while the fireplace is operating).
