Leesure Pools Inc

About us

When Lee Poper started Lee-Sure Pools in Albuquerque in 1976, his business motto was to keep his customers happy, and deal with them honestly. This principle has been with Lee-Sure Pools for its 40-year history. In the beginning Lee-Sure Pools concentrated only on the remodeling of pools and pool decks, but with the changing of times Lee Sure Pools has also changed. Not only is Lee Sure Pools involved with pool remodeling, but with numerous backyard, patio and indoor home improvements. Lee-Sure Pools has gained a great deal of experience over the past 29 years. This experience edge pays off for customers in a job that’s estimated correctly, performed in the least amount of time and with the least amount of inconvenience to the homeowner. Lee-Sure Pools services on in-ground pools include, re-plastering, tile repair, new tile installation, deck resurfacing and complete deck removal, along with complete pool-related plumbing work. They also specialize in adding great new touches like stunning fountain weirs and continuous action waterfalls. Plus, all the great concrete deck options such as stamped concrete designs and colored patterns can literally change your pool environment from drab to dazzling. Ever since 1976 the focus Lee-Sure has been on pool remodeling and rejuvenation. For the past 20 years Lee-Sure Pools has also been installing and perfecting the art of concrete resurfacing. With the growth of Albuquerque and the market for resurfacing concrete, Lee-Sure Pools formed a division named Design Deck. Design Deck has become New Mexico ’s largest resurfacing company, and a leader in introducing new products and techniques to the marketplace. With more than one million square feet of Design Deck in place, New Mexico ’s homes, restaurants, schools and public buildings can be seen with DesignCrete, Design Decks cementatios coating. DesignCrete, can be applied over practically any solid surface and can be colored and textured to meet your individual desires. Indoors, it’s ideal for homeowners who want the look of tile, but not the expense of its' installation and maintenance. DesignCrete is available in simulated looks for flagstone, brick, marble, acid stain and Saltillo. To go along with its work on surfaces, Design Deck also offers customizable lifetime warranted aluminum patio covers and sunshades and maintenance-free composite wood decks, walkways and railings. The composite wood is made from recycled materials, never needs painting, resists termites, and will not warp, rot, crack, split or splinter. Additional DBAs - Lee Sure Pools, Design Deck. The job was well-done.  Very professional.  I used them a number of years ago to resurface my pool, and both times they were extremely trustworthy.  They did a great job, and knew exactly how to proceed.  My only complaint is that they are a little short on the communications end.  I had to follow up to find out when we were scheduled, over how many days the repairs would occur, etc. However, once the schedule was set, they stuck to it.   I would highly recommend them. They know what they are doing, and their prices seem fair.

Beautiful tile and plaster job.  Great pump, filter, heater.  Great folks to work with.
However, there were issues.
   1) Apparently, the filter wasn't assembled correctly at the factory and it wasn't checked, so filter material was deposited in the pool while it was curing over the weekend and we couldn't contact them to correct it until Monday.  They came in an fixed it, but we think this lead to a slight discoloration of the beautiful plaster job.
   2) We expected the bubbler for the spa to be refurbished, but apparently not.
I am so happy to have the pool functional again, that I can overlook these issues, but I'm guessing other people may not be so generous.  If these had not happened, I would have given them all Excellent scores.

They did a good job on the tile. There was a hiccup with draining the pool, but what impressed me is they didn't shy away from responsibility, and they stepped up and fixed the issue. I would use them again.

Minus some weather delays that were beyond their control they got the job done on time. Both the estimator and the crew were on time and did very nice work. The pool looks brand new.

The cost varies because every pool is different. They were amazing. We put in four different pools and they were professional, on time, clean, and honest. It is a great company to work with.

The job itself went fairly smoothly.  We were working with a contractor who was constructing an outdoor kitchen as well, and that is where most of the delays came. Whenever I tried to contact, Lee Poper, the owner. He would get back to me promptly.
The problems came after the job was done:
1) The newly poured gunite pool began to discolor from white to a brownish bronze after about six months.  I contacted Lee about this issue, and we had to redrain the pool after the first season of use and have his workers come out to use a blow torch to correct the discoloration.  This occurred only after he accused our pool company of not having the chemicals adjusted correctly and sent out his own workers to recheck the chemistry. We had to pay an additional $1000 in addition to paying the water bill to refill the pool after the work was done.
2) Our previous pool deck was covered in something called Kool Deck, which was wonderful because we have children who are outside and cannot be relied upon to put their shoes on. I emphasized to Lee (on more than one occasion) that I wanted a cool surface for our new deck.  He suggested a plain poured concrete deck, and we chose a greyish color.  I asked about the need to apply Kool Deck or acrylic to this concrete to ENSURE that it would be cool, to which he stated that would be unnecessary.  During our first season of summer use, I noticed the surface was incredibly hot and even called Lee on the telephone to complain. Of course, he didn't offer any solution.  This summer (our second) our children are older and we have had more pool parties.  On more than one occasion, we have had our children and their guests wind up with THEIR FEET BLEEDING due to the heat of the concrete surface. As children can be, they were careless running around without their shoes on, thereby burning off layers of skin and ultimately causing a bleeding wound.  Now, I have to find another company to apply an acrylic surface to our brand -new concrete.  I WILL NOT BE USING LEE-SURE POOLS AGAIN, NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM.
