Home Care Assistance of Albuquerque

The caregiver for my mother has been awesome and there are so many days when I give thanks for her both for what she does for my mother and also for making my life easier. We have great communication and work together as a team to keep my mom safe and healthy. When my mother's caregiver took a vacation HomeCare Assistance arranged for a substitute. The substitute was decidedly sub-par, but they responded immediately agreeing that she shouldn't return. I have definitely felt supported in caring for my mom, my mom likes and gets along with her caregiver, and my mom has much more positive energy since beginning care.

This is a beautiful facility and provided care within 24 hours of my call. They were the only facility able to provide such quick care over a holiday. Unfortunately , the caregivers were sub optimal. The first of two, was late 2 out of her 3 days. She lied about it. She did not show good judgement in our home. The second caregiver was better (could it get worse?). She provided average care. Told me that she could not get my husband's sock on...which she tried from a standing /bent over position. I sat on the floor and pulled his sock on. Due to her obesity, I question if she could get off the floor. The administrative staff was excellent and very receptive to my feedback. If I decide to use them again...as we age, I would want to interview the caregivers and get lots of details about their experience

We are very happy with them overall. I think they are doing a very good job. They always have good attendance, and the punctuality is good. The personnel are great.

The company leadership and service team are excellent and stand behind their service commitment. However, the individual care provider assigned to case did not meet expectations. Patient was safe for meals and medications which was first priority, but personal interaction with patient and family members proved irritating rather than relationship-building. Dementia patients are challenging and need repetition with same caregiver, but if chemistry isn't good, I recommend not hesitating to ask for another. Service team would have been agreeable. Discontinued services only because patient was declining and placed in full time care facility.

They are willing to do anything to help. Lately, I've been needing everything from house maintenance to dog walking, helping with my husband to driving him to doctors appointments, and things like that. There's nothing they are unwilling to do. They are working with my husband and the insurance company. They are available 24 hours. It's just worked out beautifully. They change the bed. It's been a marvelous service. I will use them in the future.

Some caregivers have been excellent and others were not the right "fit" for my parents. But overall I have been happy with the services Home Care Assistance has provided.
