I called Dave Harder on the advice of my husband after a less-than-perfect experience with another electrical repair company to re-diagnose the malfunction and install an already purchased replacement panel. Dave was on time, careful, and professional. He installed the parts and rewired faulty connections - I haven't had a problem since. He also took the time to show me what had caused the boiler to malfunction and what he did to fix it. I wish I had known to call him in the first place - my husband had had him perform work for us when we first remodeled our house and speaks very highly of him. Dave is now in my contact list as "our electrician", too... I should also note that while I gave him a "B" for "price", I consider him to be an "A" for value (not an option in the rating section here); while Harder Electrical is not on the cheap end of the scale, you won't have to call someone else to redo their work. In the end, it is worth every penny.

I am very reluctant to leave negative reviews. But the system has not worked as it should when switching from heating to cooling. The remote control works and it is clear that it is sending a signal to the units but the units do not respond as they should. This was a problem the first time my mother tried to switch over the system to cooling in June 2016 after the system was installed in April 2016 (but she did not tell me it took many attempts before the system finally switched over). On Friday May 26, 2017 I tried myself to switch the system over to cooling and, once again, it failed to do so the afternoon I made repeated attempts. It did finally switch over many hours later, in the middle of the night. I had called Dave who was responsive on the phone on May 26th but was on his way out of town as it was the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. When we talked again on June 1st he told me he would charge me a $95 service charge because his one year warranty had expired (as of April 20, 2017). He told me the unit comes with a 5 year warranty that would cover defective parts, but not his service charge for repair. When I asked for a copy of the warranty so that I could read it he said I should already have it. Since I had created a file and put all the paperwork for the system in the file I knew I did not have a copy of the warranty and asked him how I might get a copy. He said, again, that I should already have one because he always gives them when he does an install. I not only did not get a copy of the warranty I did not get paperwork that stated the date he actually installed the system. Fortunately I had handwritten notes on the only paperwork I did receive from him which was an estimate of the work to be done. But I did not receive anything in writing about his one year warranty on the install. All I received was his handwritten note on the written estimate that I had made a 50% deposit and a final payment. This seems pretty unprofessional to me, which is the reason for my low rating on 'professionalism'. My low rating for responsiveness is due to the position taken by Mr. Harder on his one year warranty: he would not make a service call 6 weeks after his one year warranty ran out - on an $8,781 job - without a $95 service charge and possibly higher charges depending on what he found when he got into the system.

Harder came out the same day to evaluate the situation. They scheduled the work as soon as possible, but in the meantime, they were able to perform a temporary repair so I wouldn't be without electrical service until the work could be done. On the day of the service, they arrived 15 minutes early and began to deploy their equipment as they waited for the power company to disconnect the service. They brought the pole back to full upright, and rebuilt the service, bringing it to current code, within a few hours. The work was done on time and on budget. These guys are total professionals. I will definitely call them again when I need electrical work done.

I had originally liked the work done that was completed, it was done fairly quickly. The provider took over 3 months to take care of the inspections, even with me calling him 3 different times.

Dave arrived a little earlier than the appointed time (called first to make sure it was okay) and assessed the job.  He was professional, friendly, efficient, and very personable.  He called his associate, Tim, to bring the new filter grate, and together they finished the job quickly AND cleaned up after themselves.  Both of the men were great and very easy to work with.  I strongly recommend them!

A few months ago, I installed a dimmer switch for the patio lights in the same electrical box we have a switch for the backyard flood lights.  I apparently didn't do it correctly, and the switches would not operated independently.  Dave came out, trouble shot the situation, and rewired it correctly.  It took less than half an hour.

Service man came out, was friendly and polite.  thought my problem was a short in the master bath.  He took my entire light fixture down and tightened connections.  Then he offered to do any upgrades I needed on the side.  Stated he would give me a great deal.  I thanked him and 45 minutes later, my power went out again.  Seemed shady that he offered to do work on the side and I didnt want him back in my home again after he didn't fix the problem the first time.  I also was affraid that I would get that service guy back. I called another company who correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem.  They cost a little more, but I should have gone with them in the first place.  You get what you pay for.
