Godel first pressure washed all beams, then completely sanded all down to bare wood (removing multiple layers of paint), removed all of the rot and previous repair materials, filled in the damaged areas with a special DAP resin + sawdust compound, bolted additional 2x8s to the worst beams, then applied a couple of coats of the highest rated exterior paint. The improved appearance was dramatic and the beams are better protected than they've been for decades.

Four Hills Construction treated my projects as though they were his own. He takes time and effort to think through each project so that it is done correctly with the correct products. He is very knowledgeable about buildings and how to renovate for the long-term. Four Hills is always prompt: he comes when he says he will. He doesn't just take off if the project takes longer than expected. He is professional and polite. He goes the extra mile to complete the job. And his charges are reasonable. I recommended him to my neighbor.

The first four beams were done to see if repair was possible. Godel seriously underestimated the amount of work these 4 would require, but, did not attempt to renegotiate and did a meticulous job. If you go to the website you will see what this involved. We negotiated another contract to do the remaining 10. The work went much more quickly as the procedures for dealing with the beam damage had been perfected. I've attached a picture of beams 1 & 2 after stripping out the dry rot. Beam 1 required "sistering". A picture showing the repair of 1 (before painting) is next. The final picture shows all 14 beams after their repair.
