I called the office, the person who answered was courteous and I was scheduled for the next morning! Fast and accommodating-super. The two movers were on time, careful of my house and furnishings in general and VERY careful with my Yamaha upright...another check in the "good guy" category. And finally, the movers were just plain nice guys as well. They offered to clean up the dusty, cobweb filled piano back (and floor where the piano was to be placed.) The price of the move was very reasonable, and the service was truly top drawer. Aces all around. I'd give them more stars if it was possible. :)

My 1949 Steinway B had been sitting wrapped up from our move from Northern California two years ago. I'd had a humidifier running 24/7 in our insulated garage to keep the soundboard from cracking, but I missed playing it. (A Kurzweil PC3LE sounds great and its keybed feels OK, but it just isn't the same.)
Expert Piano Moving was at the top of Angieslist's recommendations, and after reading reading reviews for the top three, I gave Expert a call on June 8. They scheduled me for June 12. They called before arriving, within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
The lead mover came in and looked at what I wanted first, then retrieved his two helpers and tools from the truck. Inside 20 minutes, they unwrapped the piano, attached the legs and pedal assembly, and had it ready for me to test-play. They moved it inside the garage studio to my requirements, asking me exactly where I wanted it.
Because their office computer was down, they didn't have a printed receipt for me, and I had to figure sales tax for the base $150 charge. But that's minor - they did a careful job with this great-sounding instrument that has been in my family for 66 years.
I used to have the Steinway moved by Reynolds Piano Moving, piano movers for Stanford University in California. Before our 2013 move, packing was done by Adagio Piano Movers of Los Gatos, CA. Expert was just as careful unpacking here in Albuquerque.
Highly recommended.

These guys were wonderful to work with. This was a double move, with 1 piano going cross-country to my house, and the piano already in my house going to another location 100 miles away. I spoke to them a number of times , first to find out about their service, their insurance, the climate on the truck ( it's climate-countrolled ), and then to plan the logistics of the pickup from my father's house, the swap of pianos at my house, and the delivery at my aunt's house. They were always pleasant and professional. Expert removed the first piano from a room with Italian tile on the floor. My father reported everything went great. Upon arrival in upstate NY, there was snow on the ground. I had to dig an opening into the embankment at the side of the road so they could make it through to my path. Expert had all the materials needed to lay down a safe surface on my rough stone path, which is impossible to clear completely. The piano arrived from Santa Fe in perfect condition, and they made the swap ( removing my old piano ) very efficiently. My aunt reported that they managed the outdoor stairs and the tight spots in her house with aplomb. She was worried about the wood floors, but again Expert had appropriate materials to protect the house.
In short, I found Expert to be, well, expert at their jobs and reasonably priced. I recommend them highly.

This went perfectly. The move was performed on time and the piano arrived in perfect condition. The cost was reasonable and matched the estimate. I would definitely use them again.

The folks at Expert are always remarkably professional and do a gear job. I've used them to move my piano to various houses over the years and they take great care to do a good job. The last couple of times I used them they gave me a discount for being a loyal repeat customer. The last time I called them I need to have my piano moved across the house without damaging my tile and hardwood floors, or the piano. They were awesome. I'll never call anyone else!

Much more than expected!
Overall, these people are great! They were responsive to my initial calls and to my requests for scheduling. They brought 8 hands, which allowed for safe moving of our piano. They were industrious in deciding how to navigate our premices with care while moving the piano. All were very congenial and they worked swiftly and were very careful.
The only issue was a nicked floor mat (which I should have removed prior), and a slight scuff on a door sill. This considered, their work was safe and very careful and Expert's movers were completely willing to put in extra work, moving our refrigerator without any forwarning of the request (and at the end of their day's work). When they arrived, we realized that our refrigerator still needed to be moved as well and asked their advice. They were promptly willing to disconnect and move our refrigerator in addition to the scheduled piano move.
Once at the destination, they were very careful when moving the piano over our hardwood floors and heard my concerns in this regard before starting. When the piano was placed, they had also fashioned cardboard buffers under the piano legs for added protection. With the refrigerator, not only were they willing to move that, but when we arrived at the destination, they also gladly moved out the existing refrigerator and connected it in the garage, then even installed the moved refrigerator in the new location with care, sweeping the floors behind and connecting the water lines using teflon tape. After the work, they even made it difficult for me to tip them.
I realize this review may seem overly complementary, but I'm a first time customer, am not acquainted with any of the staff, and prize our piano (and was apprehensive about anyone moving it in the first place). Their willingness and congeniality were outstanding and their work was careful and professional. I have nothing but thanks for their work, and for their having gone above and beyond by moving my full size refrigerator at a moment's notice and for no extra charge as well!!
Most highly recommended.

The Piano movers were on time and went to work immediately. The piano was carefully inspected prior to moving and entirely wrapped to prevent damage. The legs of the piano were carefully removed and the piano was loaded on it's side onto a wheeled piano dolly and move to the music room. Then the legs were installed and the piano was placed up right. The mover even provided a business card for a piano tuner. He advised me to wait for about 30-45 day prior to having it tuned so the wood and strings could "settle" after the move. Very professional service and I highly recommend.

It went great. The people were great to work with, they transported my piano without damaging it. I thought the price was good. They positioned my piano exactly where I wanted it, even though my husband told them the wrong place to put it (I wasn't there at the time of delivery) they offered to come back and fix it the way I wanted it. I would absolutely call them back again and recommend them to anyone who needs their piano moved!

. They arrived right on time (a big plus) and were most courteous. They moved a heavy table that was in the way and put the piano on a flat -bed dolly. They had backed up to my front porch such that their ramp went from the truck straight to the porch thus avoiding going up and down stairs. They moved the table back and proceeded to my daughter's house. It was a bit more difficult to get into her house, but it was expertly accomplished. The piano was well padded and tied down while in transit. No damages to the piano or walls. I would highly recommend this company.

I used their website to request a quote. The response was very fast and quite reasonable. When I found a buyer for the piano, he had the same experience. The movers showed up on time and knew what they were doing. The piano wasn't damaged nor were any walls or the floor. Their van is specially fitted for moving pianos. Ours was put on blocks, strapped securely to the wall and covered with a moving cloth. I wasn't on the receiving end but it didn't look like the piano would be moving inside the van. From my end, they were excellent and I have referred them to others.

It went great. The 3 guys that came were very professional, and they had my piano moved in about 3 minutes. They had to tip it on its side to get it through the door, which is definately something we would never try ourselves. If I ever need the piano moved again, I will definately be calling them.
