Excel Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

Bill Reno is a gentleman extraordinaire. He arrived promptly and helped his associate get started and made sure everything was in order. He called later that evening to make sure everything was completed to my exact specifications and satisfaction. I no longer have carpet in my home; however, when I did, I would not trust cleaning it to anyone but Bill and Excel Carpet care.

They arrived on time and did a very professional job.  Bill also called to follow up to ensure that I was satisfied with the work and told me to call him if I had any issues after the sofa and loveseat completely dried.  I was very pleased with the work they did and would highly recommend this company.

The are pricey, but the quality of the work is wonderful. They are terrific.

The morning after I first made contact with Excel, they came out and picked up my rugs, and then delivered them 24 hours I gave the go ahead (when renovation work at my home was completed).  Bill Reed was a pleasure to work with.

We were very happy with the professional job that Bill and his assistant did. He is a little more expensive than some of the other carpet cleaners in the area but we wanted to have it done right and he came highly recommended. This was a difficult carpet to clean because it had pet stains and because we had attempted to clean it ourselves and used too much soap which left a lot of residue.
They also gave us good advice on future care and maintenance of the carpets in our house. They were on time and very professional and made a return visit for some touch ups.
I would recommend Excel for their quality work, honesty and great customer service and would use them again.

I really like that they don't use soap, but extremely hot water for the carpet. Using soap typically causes a soapy residue. This is something I don't have to worry about.   They are very professional and knowledgeable.

Mr. Bill Reno and his team from Excel are just first-class.  This is the fifth year I have used them; I don't even bother with anyone else.  I have two small kids and two dogs, and somehow we only need our carpet cleaned once a year because these guys are so thorough.

They are supremely professional and trustworthy.  I have no problem leaving them with a key and having them work while I am away.  They always take great care to protect the sheetrock wall corners from their tubing with plastic guards, as well as my tile with dropcloth runners.  And I think it speaks a great deal about the company that I have had the same technician five years running.  His name is Victor, and he does excellent work.  Today he had two additional technicians with him--Ernest and Chris--and they are equally professional and efficient.

Mr. Reno is always prompt in calling me back to schedule when I call the office.  He also calls to follow up later that day or evening; to me, that says he takes pride in his and his team's work.  He wouldn't be calling if he was expecting me to be dissatisfied.  I feel really fortunate that I found out about this company right when we bought this house--no one else has ever cleaned our carpets here, and as a result, they are in tremendously good shape despite five years of our active and messy family living in the house.

They were very thorough.  I would use them in the future.

They charged me about $400 for their services. They did excellent work.

Bill Reno of Excel came to the house to assess what work would be required. We do not wear street shoes in the house, do not normally eat or drink in carpeted areas, and don't have pets. (Oops! But, we did once have a hot coco mishap in the finished basement which left a one foot diameter stain on the carpet..) Bill was impressed that our eight year old carpets looked good and said they would be relatively easy to clean. Bill also stated that he could quote a lower price if we moved the furniture off the carpeted areas to be cleaned.

We moved all the furniture off the carpeted areas to be cleaned the day before Excel was scheduled to arrive. Bill and three others showed up to start the job precisely at the scheduled time. The entire team was especially courteous.

As advertised, Excel has excellent carpet cleaning equipment. (Excel's equipment is similar to that used by Stanley Steemer, but appeared to be much better maintained.) The team spent about 40 minutes setting up, and then left one man to do the actual cleaning. He spent several hours cleaning our carpets. Excel sprays a substance (soap, detergent, shampoo) on the carpet and then steam cleans the sprayed area until no soap bubbles are seen in the vacuum return line. After cleaning an area, they set up blowers that circulate air over the damp carpet to accelerate drying.

The darkened high traffic areas are clean, the darkened strip immediately next to the wall where the vacuum cannot reach is clean, and the white stain where hot coco was spilled is undetectable. Our carpets are now exceptionally clean. For the cleaning service we got, the price was good.

NOTE: In the past, I have been disappointed by "5 rooms for $178" type offers from other carpet cleaning companies. After getting on site, they claim that a room is larger than allowed by the offer and will count a large room as two or three rooms. And, then they will want to know if we also want the hall cleaned. If yes, well, that counts as another room. And, then there can be additional costs for driers, spot removal, for their special "deep cleaning" service, etc. In those cases, the work was not done well. soap was left in the carpet, which causes the carpets to collect dirt more quickly. Those were not good experiences.

I decided to go with them because I have used them in the past. Their price is higher than many others, but they are more thorough, for example, in rinsing the detergents used to clean the rugs. I don’t know if they are double than many others in terms of the price; that was definitely a consideration I had to overcome. They are pretty dependable, and I like their quality of work. They show up on time and seem to meet the time expectations that have been declared. They are pretty cheerful about how they handle stuff, especially in terms of moving stuff back and forth. I would highly recommend them and would probably use them again in the future.

Bill Reno has cleaned our carpet for many years.  He always does a good job.

We have used them over the years and we have always been very, very pleased with them. They have always been extremely reliable, very competent and professional. They are a little pricey but they are also very good compared to other people we used in the past. When they say they are going to be here at 7 am you can set your watch by them.

I LIKE THAT THE SHAMPOO THEY USED TO CLEAN WORKS. I WILL TRY THEM IN THE FUTURE IF I NEED THEM. THEY ONLY TOOK ONE DAY TO FINISH CLEANING MY CARPET. THEY WERE REASONABLE. PLUS, THEY MOVED STUFF OUT OF THE WAY AND REPLACED IT WHEN THEY WERE DONE.
