Satellite TV Equipment Service, TV Service - Cable
I used the TV the second night being in the home. the braille key pad hurt my fingers and were so hard to use. when i finally able to get the TV service to work i only found three channels before having to see pay per view service. I called the next day to terminate the service and all they said that I was responsible for the termination fee. No one at dish was very customer friendly and i've never had such a bad experience with any other provider out there. The termination fee was never mentioned at the time of the installation. Comcast, service is so much easier to use, it is slick simple and easy to use. no wonder dish is resorting to thievery as there service can not compete. Comcast is cheaper experience is so much better and helpful. when i called the presidents office again to see if that was their final stance I received the same robotic response and no end in site. I had their service one night and it wasn't very satisfactory

Satellite TV Equipment Service
Terrible...
Tech was 5 hours late and tried to get out of setting up the system.
I've been charged for bills totally unrelated to service since I moved here. I've been threatened with service disconnection many times.
I pay my bills on time. The customer service is terrible and reps are rude and beyond.
I'm still in a contract so stuck for nearly another year. There is a reason Dish Network is one of the most hated companies in the US

Other than they keep adding things on to the bill and I have to call them and get it adjusted, just like all the other providers, it is ok. Much cheaper than cable and direct TV was.

Satellite TV Equipment Service, TV Service - Cable
I have been using Dish Network for about two years now. I had just made a call to get the service. They came in and installed the cable and they did a pretty good job. I think they were just okay. Their price is a little high and it keeps going up. The quality of the service is okay. It goes out when the winds gets really bad or there is a bad storm, but then that's because it's satellite so most of the time it's pretty good. Their responsiveness is good. If their prices keep going up, I will change the provider.

We have been very happy with them. Everything is fine; the only problem we have is that when it snows, the snow sometimes sticks and we lose reception. It works fine if we remember to spray it with pam before it snows. The bill comes towards the end of the month; it's an auto pay out of my checking account. We actually have a very cheap cable bill. We had the more expensive one, and we called them and said that we are not watching half of this stuff and that we can't afford it. We asked them for the cheapest that they can offer, and the cheapest was $19.99. But we still have really good service for that; we get quite a few channels, including MSNBC which is normally in the higher price packages. We never really had a problem. Whenever we have a problem, we call them up and they always given us the answers over the phone, and we have been able to fix it. I don't think we never even had to have a service call. Nobody can beat the price; we get the basic networks plus HGTV and the History Channel. Another company keeps sending us things in the mail and we keep tossing them saying that we are happy and we are not going to change. We will continue to use DISH Network in the future.

We have been using Dish for about 5 years. The service is excellent, and we never have had any problems. The original set up was excellent, preventing future problems. I haven't shopped around, but I'm happy, and will continue with them.

Satellite TV Equipment Service
It is the best invention ever; we don't have to watch commercials. It records up to 100 hours and we get 200 channels. We've had them since 2005. We've had to contact them because sometimes the receivers have gone out and we've gotten very good service. They are awesome. Sometimes we lose everything we recorded because the smart card has gone out. We have some issues with the technology but they have sent a new one the same day. The price is expensive but we would spend $10 going to a movie for one person so we have to rationalize that. They get right on it for getting us fixed up so they are fast. They have never really had to come out except for when they hooked us up.

We have had Dish Network for over 10 years. We bought our original receiver for about $150 and it worked fine until this past December, when we sometimes could not get a signal, except in the evenings. I called tech support and they ran me through some diagnostic tests, but they concluded a visit from a technician was needed. They scheduled a technician to come out on 12/27. He tightened some wires, which seemed to solve the problem, at least while he was there. By the next day, we had no service at all, and it never came back. Another call to tech support ran me through the same tests, with no solution, so they concluded that most likely the receiver needed to be replaced. Instead of buying a new receiver, I would lease a new one, with no added charges to my monthly bill on a 2-year contract. Even though I don't like contracts, it seems like an OK deal. There was about a 2-week delay before a technician could come out. The new technician took one look at our old receiver and explained that the old receiver could no longer understand the signal from the satellite. He also noted that the lens on the rooftop receiver was faulty, and wondered why the previous technician hadn't replaced it, and why he hadn't recommended replacing the receiver. He also added a wireless phone jack to our system, so that the system could do an automatic diagnostic every night via phone; this should take about $5 a month off our bill. The new receiver works great and we've had no problems. Cable TV isn't really an option where we live. Though my experience with Dish was overall positive, we had a much harder time closing out my brother's account after he passed away. It took several months with repeated phone calls and faxes, finally a threat to contact the attorney general got them to close the account.

Satellite TV Equipment Service
I was considering switching my television service to dish network. On May 7 2009 I called the sales number. After a very long sales pitch and a request for my credit card number, which she said was 'required to see if I qualified' for Dish Network service, the woman I spoke with said she was "required by law" to connect me to a very long recording that told me, among other things, that this would be a two year contract. When the woman came back on the line, I told her a two year contract was totally out of the question and to cancel everything. She told me she could not cancel the appointment, which was already discussed, to install Dish Network. At no time did I give her permission to charge my credit card. At that point, not knowing I was being charged, all I wanted to do was to cancel the appointment. She gave me another phone number I would have to call to do that. The person who answered at that number told me my NAME was "not acceptable." His English was poor. I asked to speak to a supervisor and reiterated the whole above situation and asked to cancel the appointment for installation. He said he would do that. No installer ever showed up. Nothing from Dish was ever installed. I have NEVER done any business with Dish Network, nor will I ever. Today, I found that Dish Network had placed a $49.99 charge on my credit card!!! I called the customer service number again and again spoke to a supervisor who told me he couldn't do anything about this charge. I am pursuing this with the Better Business Bureau and with my credit card company, but I thought others schould know about this.

You switched from Comcast to DISH because they advertised their company to be $49.99 a month as as opposed to Comcast's $60.00 a month with tax. DISH is actually costing me $57.58 a month with tax. There is no difference. I was charged a programming and access fee for 5$ in case there is any kind of problem. They sent me a jack to install and they said that they would take off the $5 fee. Now they tell me the outlet is faulty. Now I have to have an electrician come out.
