The 4 spinklers in the front yard and 7 in the back were checked. One sprinkler head in the front yard was dug out and the pipe capped as we had xeriscaped that part of the yard. This required a lot of digging and working through lots of roots! The head was then used to replace one in the back yard that was not working very well. Great service!

Very thankful for their service!! The leak started on June 19. Of course that was Sunday and Father's day so I had to let run. It was a bubbling, not gushing leak. On Monday morning around 8 AM, i called Discount and spoke directly to Rudy, the owner. Before I could explain the issue, he had my name and contact info as we have used them before. Rudy personally came out about 9:45 and turned off the street valve. He said a crew would be out about 2PM but I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived at 12:45! They work for about 2 hours and found the leak which was about 6 inches under a driveway edge, s a lot of digging was necessary to expose and repair the feed line.
The repair is holding up fine and we plan to use Discount Sprinklers to relocate the timer to an indoor location and then check and repair as necessary all the sprinkler heads and drip feeds in the front and back yard.

They came in on time & explained the process properly & professionally. Work was completed on time. They saved our lawn from 2 years of disaster at a competitive price compared to a 2 other estimates . Left a small mess after they finished but I called Rudy & within 20 minutes one of his employees was at our door to clean up & he explained the resetting of the sprinkler system so I knew what to do the rest of the summer. They saved our lawn.

We purchased a home with a large and complicated irrigation system. After previously using Discount Sprinklers for installation of a drip system at another home, I contacted them to get help solving a leak at our new home and to understand how we could best make the system work. They quickly made an appointment, showed up on time, evaluated the system and determined a repair needed to eliminate the leak and recommended a plan for making the system most effective. Their service was professional, punctual and extremely competent and I will be using them again.

At first they were prompt and professional when I had the system installed march last year. However, there was and are still a problem with the value, not shutting off. While it was under warranty last year they fixed it. I had other problems with leaks in the line on multiple occasions (I found the product to be very fragil). Several times over the past year they would not be onetime or even show up. On one occasion, I notices someone had p***** all over my tool shed, discount sprinklers where the only ones in my yard that day.
Most recently I attempted to have them fix the valve again (for an $150 fee). However, they did not show an did not answer their phone.

When Rudy arrived I showed him the broken head. He replaced it. We turned on the system, and he commented that it worked really well, considering that it is an old system. He said it had been installed properly from the outset. He checked for coverage of the lawn and made a few adjustments. I used an Angie's List coupon, and was satisfied with the job and the price.

Bad. Guy came in January and said that one zone was frozen. Did nothing but write a bill for 84.53. I told him I had an Angie's List coupon for spring run through for 47.50. He said that I should have them come back in March and I would get credit for the difference between 84.53 and 47.50. In March a guy came out and adjusted one sprinkler. BE AWARE THAT THEY CHARGE 84.53 THE MINUTE THEY STEP ON YOUR PROPERTY. Make sure if you want an estimate for repair to make it very clear up front or you will be billed $74.00 plus tax. I don't intend to use them again because they are way too expensive.

When I turned on the sprinklers in late February, water came up through the valves and through the ground next to one of the new sprinkler heads. I called Discount Sprinklers and they sent someone out to fix it a couple days later. The person who came did not ring the bell to let me know he was here and left without any communication with me. But he left paper and a stick in the main valve so I assumed the job was not done. After no word from Discount Sprinklers for a few days, I called them to see what was up. Rudy said he'd send someone out to check it but my husband insisted that Rudy come out himself to see it-- we felt he really should see what a poor job had been done. Rudy came out on a Monday, looked at it, and said he'd send someone out on Friday. The person showed came on Friday and spent a few hours working. It began to rain and he said he also need to go to a different job. He left a big hole where the valves were, his snack trash, and a pile of dirt on top of the tulips that were starting to coming up. Our yard was left like that all weekend. The worker thought he would be back on Friday or Saturday, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt--I understand that emergencies come up, rain gets in the way, etc. On Monday I called Rudy to see what was up (I was beginning to notice a pattern where he didn't bother contacting us first to tell us the status of the work...) He said he would send someone up after lunch. By 3pm I was getting agitated and was starting to feel like my kindness and patience was being taken for granted. I felt like we were at the bottom of the priority list. I called Rudy once again and told him that someone needed to come up and fix our yard that day. Indeed, a worker came by an hour later. I'm just sorry it took getting upset to get results. The worker who showed up apologized, but he also told us that the guy who worked on the yard on Friday did the job wrong. He ripped everything out and started over. He left at 5pm but was back the next morning by 8:30 am and finished the job that morning. As my husband was leaving the house the worker had him sign-off on some papers, then the worker left. When I went out to look at it I was happy to see that the yard was clean and the job looked done, however he had used sand and rocks to fill a hole in the lawn and the flower bed where the valves are. Now, I'm no lawn expert but I'm pretty sure grass doesn't grow in sand. And I'll have to pick out all the rocks before we mow. And I also have to replace the sand in the flower bed. And I noticed the other day that water was filling one of the valves again. Rudy never called us or came by after the last worker left to see if we were satisfied.

The sprinklers in our front yard were probably 50 years old and we were getting tired of replacing sprinkler heads, watching the sprinkler box for the manual valves fill up with water every time we turned them on, and having the sprinklers water the sidewalk just as much as they watered the grass. We had also noticed that the pipes were old and starting to corrode. Rudy at Discount Sprinklers gave us two options, one was to have all the sprinkler heads replaced and a new sprinkler box. The other was a completely new system, with new pipes. We chose the second, event though it cost more, to be proactive at preventing future problems.
The work took about 3 days, then Rudy came out at the end to check on it. I mentioned to him that a couple of sprinklers were shooting high and hitting a tree, so he said he'd have someone come out the next day to check on it. However, it was very windy that day so their tests were kinda pointless. I let it go though since it was the end of the season and Rudy said he would come back in the spring to readjust the sprinklers free of charge; I plan to mention it to him again then.
Overall we're satisfied, his team did just what he said they would do. He did warn us that it's almost impossible to keep water from hitting the sidewalk when the lawn goes right up to it, but it's a big improvement from before. I gave them a and quot;Band quot; for price because, well, it's more than we wanted to pay, but to be fair we didn't get other estimates. I also gave a and quot;Band quot; for professionalism because some of the workers left trash in our yard, and our neighbors overheard one worker arguing loudly on his phone (they thought it was more amusing than annoying), but overall that's not a big deal to us.

This is my husband's account, as I was not home at the time. So this is not my first hand account.
We do want to commend Discount Sprinklers for finding and fixing the problem so promptly, and then not even charging us.

Rudy was helpful from the beginning phone call and scheduled the estimate right away as this was very early spring when I called. His estimator answered my questions and supplied information I hadn't asked about. Jacob and Chris (I believe I have their names correct) came out on the scheduled day and time. They worked steadily all day and did a great job at installation of the drip system and removal of the dead bushes. They removed an amazing amount of roots from the plant bed (overgrown Woodbine Rose that had been previously cut down). They installed and explained the timer and they did a great job at cleanup.

While trying to replace a sprinkler head I busted out the plastic extension nipple connecting the head to the water line. Contacted Rudy at Discount Sprinkler and he advised that someone could come out the next morning and do the necessary repairs and replace the sprinkler head. I arrived home about a half hour after the scheduled repair time to find the service technician nearly finished with the repair. I advised him at the time of the need for a new timer controller for our HOA park sprinkler system. He had one in his vehicle and said he could go ahead and install it at that time. After reviewing the electrical wiring for the install he thought best to have a senior technician come back on Monday and do the timer installation. I appreciated his honesty and said Monday afternoon would be fine. On Monday afternoon the senior tech called and said he was available anytime to do the install. He arrived 20 minutes later, did the installation and then walked me through the adjustments. I just can't say enough how pleasureable the experience was from first calling to dealing with both of the service technicians who did the work.

Several years ago, I installed a full irrigation system with 8 zones. We had 8 zones because I ran the whole system from a hose bib in the backyard. It worked well during the summer but shattered during the winter as the PVC was not insulated. Discount Sprinklers was the first company called in to evaluate the project. Rudy first came out and laid out a plan to try and salvage the work that I had done but still access the main water line as we had no access to that at the time. Several other companies were also called but their estimates were significantly higher than Discount's. Lonnie from Discount Sprinklers came out for a second estimate as some other ideas had come to mind. He provided me with a thorough description of what he thought he could do and that, as before, he would try and salvage my work. His estimate, despite changes to my original inquiry was still lower than the others.

Within 2 days of contacting them to contract the work, Lonnie and his partner were at our house began working. As they worked, it became apparent that my original work could not be salvaged due to location and depth of existing pvc lines and valves. Despite this, Lonnie completed the work with the original estimate and not a penny more. The work that they did was amazing...I was prepared to have to shovel gravel and cover up torn up parts of the yard, but you would never know that they had trenched and moved materials all over the yard. Lonnie took the time at various steps of the way to get my approval of the work and make sure that his idea of how to make this work matched my ideas. He also took the time to teach me how to add lines and emitters properly and how to adjust the work he had done.

Overall, this is one the best experiences we've had with a contractor. We noticed that they also do landscaping and will definitely contact Rudy and Lonnie first!
