We have water damage, mold and grout flies in our master bath as a result of shoddy workmanship by CTI. The grouting was thin and cracked after three and half months of shower/tub use. Water got into the wall and caused mold and then at the same time we had an infestation of grout flies. The tile started coming off, too. Anthony from CTI claimed that there was no way water from the shower could have gotten into the wall and acted like he'd never seen grout flies before. His behavior was completely disingenuous. Once the wall was torn open the dry wall and wood framing were wet. The plumbing was declared fine, but who knows! The framing also has several major cracks and places where the workman drilled extra plumbing holes but left them empty. It is a mess under there, but DR Horton is acting like this is normal. Anthony from CTI claims all of this is "just cosmetic" but that is what CTI does... cosmetics. CTI also installed the carpet in our whole house. The carpet in our master bedroom has worn down right in front of the door but no where else in the house. We were told that with care the carpet (Mohawk) should last three years. Both CTI and DR Horton are blaming us claiming we have to "vacuum everyday" and not shampoo the carpet, because "the glue called latex" will get worn out. Whatever. They claim it is a "high traffic area" but we don't have that kind of wear any place else in the whole house. They are supposed to send a supposedly independent inspector (from Mohawk) to do an evaluation but I have had no follow up on this problem despite sending DR Horton reminders.
