Charlie's Woodwork

From the immediate response by Carlos Barrangan to the completion of the project in one week's time, I can only praise our encounter with this most professional carpenter.  I don't know if the average homeowner realize how difficult  a replacement for a custom cabinet in a confined space can be.  Not only does it have to be precise, it also has to function as it did before, and our
cabinets are totally unique in an Art Deco motif with a silver/chrome finish.  Carlos completed the work ahead of schedule.  He called to let us know when he would arrive and actually arrived on time, which I believe can be rare with custom work.  Mr. Barrangan's courtesy and clear ability as a carpenter were evident in the final cabinets.  He spent a morning installing them.  We are expecting visitors and it was nice to know that they wouldn't be greeted by a half finished kit6chen.  I cannot give any higher recommendation for an individual with Mr. Barrangan's skill - the value for the money spent couldn't be better.

Although we live in Albuquerque, we did a Google search for cabinets in our area of our newly purchased home in Rio Rancho and found their site charliescabinetsrioranchonm.com. Carlos (more affectionately called Charlie), came out and gave us a quote about a month prior to our contracting him. We immediately knew he was our guy, althiught his accent was tough to understand on the phone, we (Charlie, me and my wife) hit it off very well, my wife and I knew that he'd definitely do a quality job and for a reasonable price. We had everything built custom and needed to get it done ASAP, he did exactly that, we're sooo glad we hired him, we tried a few other well know companies, but we like to deal with the owner/cabinet maker directly while he does all the work himself, he doesn't even have a big crew. We are used to loud contractors and blaring music, not with Charlie! He is polite courteous and an all around gentlemen. I like that fact that we felt safe with him working in our home full of a bunch of daughters. We will always recommend him, great job Charlie! If you are in the market for any kind of wood work, he can do it for you, and do it well!

We chose Carlos to build us a new kitchen island and corner cabinet to match our existing kitchen cabinets because my husband and I liked his portfolio of work and knowledge.  After meeting with several individuals, it was clear to us that he was the right person for the job.

 

Carlos was very instrumental in helping us through the design phase.  He helped us pick the right features, design elements to match our existing kitchen and extras we wanted. Additionally, he patiently worked with us on several concepts and suggestions until we were happy with the design.

 

Carlos gave us a quote with an idea of the work involved and expected delivery. This was important to us as we were coordinating other jobs in the kitchen and this also allowed us to see the various stages of his work.  Furthermore, he was very accommodating with some of the changes we had to make during the course of our remodel.

 

Some key points in our decision making were his willingness to work with us, his willingness to match the design features and more importantly, the matching of the finish to our existing cabinets.

 

We were invited to look at samples of the finish to compare with our existing kitchen cabinets until we found one that matched.  This process took some time because it wasn’t a matter of applying stain out of a can to match but a more involved technique and process. 

 

The end result was a beautiful island and corner cabinet with all the bells and whistles we wanted.  The finished work matched the design and finish of our existing cabinets using better materials, better workmanship and better quality.  We are very pleased with the end result.

 

Not only did Carlos work with us, he offered design guidance, and all the work was done on time, at a reasonable price and within our budget.

 

My husband and I strongly recommend Carlos.  He is very professional and makes the entire process effortless.
