One more observation about color. In our case, CertaPro offered no discussion about color selection until we inquired about when, where, how to select a color (Sherwin Williams). If this is most customers? experience, you will need to initiate this topic early in the project process.
"We used the color the customer selected. We left colors (a brochure with 20 differenct 4-color color combinations) with the customer at the time of the estimate. We then told the customer when they selected us we would need a color selection prior to the job. When we were provided the colors by the customer, we put those samples (two colors on the wall). We did not buy any elastomeric until the customer stated to us the color was acceptable. I visited the job each day. When the customer met with me during the course of the job, they never once raised the issue of being unsatisfied with the color. While I am sorry they do not like the final color, they did not raise the issue with me and we painted the color they selected."
"Don't know why [removed member name] thinks we are out of business. We are still in our same building on Corrales Road. By the way, we have never done any work or even provided an estimate for a customer by this name."
Crew left a mess on the roof, this was pointed out to the supervisor on a warranty visit and was still not corrected. I have cracks in the stucco less than a year after the project was complete. I contacted Carl in July and the issues have not been resolved as of 11/15/13. Carl, the owner, refuses to come and evaluate the warranty issues in person. The supervisor did come out and fix less than half of the issues, have not seen him since he left two months ago. Would not hire certa pro again.

Carl, most of your response focused on the large crack on the backside of the parapet. Your production manager REPAIRED the large crack when he was here. He felt that the issues where covered under warranty. He also thought that the bubbling was covered under warranty, but he did not have time to repaired that day. He stated that the stucco/elastomeric was failing prematurely and that he would do some research and get back with me. I still have not receive a response.
My complaint has been a lack of response and a failure the fix the problems. There are cracks on the parapets and lateral cracks on the walls ( See attached photos taken on 11/23/13). You have not upheld your warranty.
You stated that my evaluation was inaccurate and did not reflect what has taken place. The attached photos along with the correct version of the large crack being repaired, proves the accuracy of my evaluation.
"This evaluation is completely inaccurate and does not reflect what has actually taken place. We were notified of a problem with the job at the [Member’s name removed]'s. We dispatched our production manager to review the job and repair anything that was wrong with the work we had completed. He inspected the entire house and did find a couple very small hairline cracks which he repaired on the spot. He also took photos of the complete house to log the fact of the repairs and that there were no other issues with our original workmanship. One photo does show a very obvious two to three-foot long opening on the backside of his parapet where the roofing below the stucco has separated from the parapet. This gap was/is allowing water into the wall. We were never contracted for any roofing work and we advised the [Member’s name removed]s they needed to have a roofing company repair this gap. After a series of heavy rainstorms in September, we were again contacted by Mr [Member’s name removed]. We again dispatched our production manager. This time Mr [Member’s name removed] pointed out an area on one wall where there was bubbling and detaching of the stucco. This problem area is on the exterior wall below the large opening where the roofing had separated. We pointed out to Mr [Member’s name removed] that the stucco and elastomeric above the problem area was intact and had no spots where water could have entered the wall. However, the roof gap was still there. We again explained to Mr [Member’s name removed] what the problem is. The water entry is a result of the roof leaking. Likewise, the damage to the wall was the result of the large amount of water that entered the wall through the roofing gap. It was not a problem with our work at all -- the roof is clearly and demonstrably leaking and allowing water into the wall. Any damage caused to Mr [Member’s name removed]'s wall by failed roofing is not our responsibility or covered by our warranty. We work hard to support our customers and will correct any and all failures of our work. In this case, we responded multiple times to the customer's complaint. However, the damage is not a result of our work as our photos will attest."
"We dropped the ball on this one. First of all, the areas that were not finished off appropriately should have been done right in the first place. When the member notified me she had a problem, I in turn notified the foreman to go back and make sure it was taken care of the same week. I did not then subsequently follow up with the foreman -- if I had, I would have found out he didn't go back as instructed. We have since taken care of the member's issues. We have also initiated a change to our follow up program. Our production manager now calls every job upon completion and also calls every warranty call after it is reported complete to make sure the customer is satisfied. We believe with these steps we won't have any more "dropped balls" in the future."
