The experience was stellar! The Store Manager, John Patee, was great; I went in and told him what I needed, and that I had a limited budget. After inspection he told me plain and simple what I absolutely needed, brake pads, and highly suggested replacing the front right rotor as it had been worn down severely. He didn't try to sell me services I couldn't afford, as he respected the fact that I was on a limited budget. Overall time I spent there was about 2.5 hours, from walking in to being out the door. While waiting, I overheard a call John made to a customer who had work done that day. John was genuinely interested and excited to hear the customer's opinion of the work that was done and how his or her vehicle was now performing... a Store Manager who actually cares about every customer, is extremely knowledgeable, and doesn't try to squeeze every penny out of you he can? Yeah, I'll keep coming back. Thank you John and the whole team at Brake Masters for making my experience as pain free and expedient as possible!

I do pretty much all of my auto maintenance at Brake Masters. They are truly for more than just brakes. These guys are very trustworthy and reliable, and have kept my high mileage car in good order. Also, many coupons available on their website.

I called late in the afternoon for an appointment to have my breaks checked. I was told to bring it in right away. Manual inspected my truck and told me everything was still in great condition. Will go back when needed. Appreciate the honesty.

The car dealer said 18 mos ago that I needed brakes and I went to the Menaul and Wyoming store of Brake Master and they said I did not need brakes yet. The Menaul and Wyoming location had a wonderful manager courteously assisting many people - I was extremely impressed. However the San Antonio store is most convenient for me and I have successfully used this store twice before. I got prompt and efficient service at both stores. The Brake Master ambience is not as pleasant as the car dealership (Infinity) but the cost is about 2/3 of the dealer cost. Brakes are pretty much a commodity item and using Brake Masters (or similar service) makes very good sense. Do check for internet for coupons as that saves some money and the guarentee on the pads is lifetime so you save if you keep your car (brake pads last 50-80K usually) and return to Brake Masters. When settling on a price feel free to exclude optional items as they try to slip such items in but be prepared to accept a reasonable total cost ($150-$200) for front or rear brakes and be prepared to buy new rotors after several resurfacing jobs. I found the stores basically very honest and willing to work with customers to do a proper job while containing costs. I highly recommend this company - especially these two Albuquerque stores.

I really was very, very disappointed with their service. I have taken my van twice before this. I left my van there because I didn’t have time to look at it right away, so, they asked to leave it there. They called me up within the hour and said you need a lot of work done and it would be around 1000 dollars. I said okay, but, I said I want to be able to pick up my parts when I pick up my van and they said no problem. I went in there to pay for my van and take the parts. The mechanic said that they didn’t have to put certain parts on there and the other parts have gone away, but, let me give you some coupon discount. It ended up that the coupon price was zero dollar zero cents. So, I believe I was getting ripped off right then & there. I did call their office and the lady told me that a manager would get back to me. The manager never called me up, but, the mechanic did call back and said that his metal guy came before me and took all the parts. That was very suspicious. They wanted over 100 dollars, but, got down to little over 900 dollars. I will never ever use Brake Masters again and would not recommend them to anybody.

Their price on the brake was reasonable but they wanted to do $80-$100 of unnecessary work. They wanted to change the brake fluid, which the dealer said was not necessary. So we did not let them do the work.
