There is really nothing to tell.  They secured all the appropriate permits, added the extension, consulted with me, the owner, and put up the better than I expected addition.  Everyone compliments the job they did.

We bought a house that needed considerable updating to the bathrooms and kitchen. We were fortunate that our friends had just completed a remodel project with Blake and we were impressed with the work he did for them. We had an ambitious project to reconfigure the upstairs living area of our house. Blake was very informative and willing to review options with us with an eye to form, function and cost. Our plan called for removing the smallest bedroom, making each of the remaining bedrooms slightly larger and creating a walk-in closet for the master suite. We were also reconfiguring the master bathroom to convert from a one-sink to a two-sink configuration, and enclose the toilet in its own little room (it had been in with the stall shower). And, since there wasn't enough room to add a tub to the master bathroom, we hit upon the idea of creating a spa-like shower with two shower heads. Blake made great suggestions on where we could scale back and/or save money so that we could really put our efforts and investment into the areas that mattered most. His experience and insight helped us realize our vision, and kept us from making the kinds of mistakes they don't show on the final edits on HGTV-like forgetting to place a linen closet in the upstairs hallway! Work on the upstairs went off without a hitch, in a timely fashion and beyond our expectations. The next project was to attack the kitchen. There was a lot of space, but it was configured into a small galley kitchen, with little light and a small, half bath right in the middle. Our answer was to gut the entire area and start from scratch. Blake worked with us to design a floorplan that took into account our plans for the kitchen and our cooking habits. Again, he was able to make key recommendations on where to invest our resources and where it made sense to save-he was more frugal with our money than we were! There was one potential hitch. We really wanted a gas cooktop, but it was looking like it wasn't going to be possible without spending a lot more money, and doing a lot more invasive construction. Blake knew that this was one of the most important elements for us and he worked hard with the electrician and plumber until they came up with a cost-effective solution. We were thrilled. In the end, our kitchen is stunning and, since it was designed with us in mind, works perfectly. For both projects, we were quite happy that the work was done in a timely fashion. We'd heard horror stories about never-ending remodels and we're glad that wasn't the case for us. Blake was able to help us save money in many areas, so that we were able to splurge in a couple of others and still come to the end of the project right on budget.
