After over a month of communications, Darrell finally showed up. We paid over $360 at the time. The next time we tried using our gas fireplace, it did not work. After over two months of broken promises (via texts and phone calls) to return and continue working on the fireplace, we have given up. Pleasant enough and seemingly knowledgeable, but completely unreliable.

If you don't know where to find someone to service your Heat-N-Glo gas log fireplace, look no further. Our 12-13 yr old unit was turning off spontaneously and not always starting (this was the flame part only; the pilot remained lit). Darryl serviced the unit, with needed attention to the electrical contacts and pilot. He also cleaned the glass using ceramic stove top cleaner (we had been cleaning with "windex," that just doesn't work after a while). Darryl was easy to reach by phone, and came when promised. His charge was in line with the current going rate for service calls in ABQ (e.g., plumbing and heating) which we wish were lower, but it's not.

He returned my call immediately and happened to be available. He came right over. He was professional, congenial, and best of all, super experienced. He instinctively knew what was wrong and fixed it. 
I asked him some questions about the venting and he alerted me to the fact that the venting is an extreme fire danger. No one else had told us how dangerous it was.
AND he had some creative ideas for some other house repairs that came up in discussion.
He's smart, knowledgeable, experienced, and funny to boot! I HIGHLY recommend him.
