We had had a plumber from another company out last year to look at our floor heater and he said a part was broken and couldn't be replaced, so we'd eventually need to replace the unit and in the mean time we could jump up and down close to the heater to get it to turn on. This actually worked for a while, but was becoming less effective. We decided to try a different company this time. Charles Baca, the technician from Albuquerque Plumbing, did his own diagnostics and concluded that the thermostat was broken, installed a new one, and voila, problem fixed. Mr. Baca was also incredibly good-natured about me interrogating him about how his diagnosis could explain why jumping up and down next to the heater would turn it on. He explained the mechanics of the part that the first plumber had identified as the problem, and how no amount of jumping could jar it into working. In short, Mr. Baca was a pleasure to work with: he did a great job explaining what he thought was going on and why, and he fixed our perfectly functioning heater, which the first company would have had us needlessly replace. In the future, we can call Mr. Baca directly, as he left us with a business card with his cell phone. This is fantastic, because with the other company we never got the same plumber twice.

The communication was horrible. The work took longer than the two days they promised. There were multiple inspections and permits they never told me about causing me miss to more work than I planned on. I was without A/C for a day and night, also not communicated so I could plan ahead by cooling the house and buying fans. I accepted a high quote thinking I was paying for excellent customer service throughout the project, boy was I wrong! The project manager did not listen to me and did not return my phone calls once the project had started. He knew I was irritated and he avoided me rather than call to try and "make my day amazing" as they claim they want to do every time you call the front desk. I had a roof leak that I pray is fixed. A hot water heater leak that still hasn't been fixed and old wiring that is still lying in my side yard connected to the old A/C unit. I called several times for them to finish the job and switch over from A/C to heat before winter and they were waiting to speak to the project manager before scheduling. I finally gave up and called for my pre-paid service to turn on the heat. I was afraid to do it myself because the inspector from the gas company suspected that they may have damaged the gas valve within the unit because they connected to the gas line and left it open when there was still pressure in the line. I communicated all of this to Josh, the project manager, and he never returned my calls or replied to my email. Oh, and when they were "done" they received payment in full. That was before I knew about the leaks and before they told me about all the work that had to be done after the gas company connected the new line to the meter. I was also told that PNM was offering a $300 rebate but Josh never gave me the rebate form and from what I can tell from PNM's website there is no rebate.

They charged me $90 for a service call and then stated that it would take $1,100 to clean the coils properly and service the a/c unit. I hired another contractor who performed the service in 30 minutes for $90.

They did a great job.  They are excellent.  The work was very good and they left the area real clean.  They told me what I could and could not put down the sink and told me not to use the disposal.  They gave me helpful hints and left the house clean.

Employee came out and looked at everything and quoted me a very good price, so I approved the work. As soon as he actually started working he immediately told me that it was going to be more extensive than he realized and the price would be five times what he told me. I refused to pay and he left. (After making me pay $69 for a "diagnostic fee"). They did this last time as well. Either their employees don't know how to generate estimates, or this is their tactic - low ball the estimate and then jack up the bill at the end.

It wasn't cheap but they did an excellent job. They put in a new one that was better than the old one. It has a release container on top, so we're better off than we were.

The plumber fixed the toilet. However, in the process he had to turn off the water for the house. I told him I did not know where the shutoff valve was, but he could turn it off in the street. He went into my utility room and tried the shutoff valve, but it did not work. He then went to the street and shut it off from there. The toiled repair was fine, however, my wife and I went out for the day and when we got home around 7pm we went to use the hot water and it was not working. We have an instant hot water pump in our system and I went to the garage to find that the plumber had shut off the valves for the system and did not turn them back on. I saw that the valve he turned off was now leaking, so I did not want to play with it and have a problem. I called their office and they said that they would send someone out to take a look. The plumber came and at this time it was close to 9:30. He turned on the valves and the valve stopped leaking. However, he showed me that the valve was corroded,  and that it should be corrected. Had the original plumber told me that while he was here I would have had it fixed, as I could see that it might be a problem. The plumber then proceeded to tell me , with my wife at my side, that the hot water heater should be replaced and that it could go any minute, a scare tactic that I did not appreciate at 10pm at night. Maybe he was just trying to be helpful, but you can imagine what that did to my wife. He said that it could go any time and if it were his family he would have it replaced immediately, it could damage the walls, cause a problem, etc. . I have had homes with hot water heaters that have failed and I do not panic. I then asked him to fix the leaky valve and he proceeded to tell me that it would be overtime to fix it. I said that I did not cause the problem,by leaving it on and that I thought that this was very unfair. I also told him that if the valve caused a major leak at night it would be up to the company to repair the damage.  He told me that people make mistakes, like not turning on the valve and telling me that it should have had it repaired, etc. I told him that I did not cause the problem and regardless ABQ plumbing should fix the valve at regular price. He spoke to supervisor who apparently told him that I would have to pay the overtime as these things can happen when you open any valve. I told him I wanted the valve replaced the next day and he said he comes in early and he would have someone call me to come out in the morning to replace the valve. I waited the next day until 10am without hearing from ABQ plumbing and finally called. I was asked to tell the whole story again and I asked the young lady if she had the authority to fix this problem and she said she did. After telling her the story she then told me she had to turn me over to the owner and repeat the story again. They were apologetic, and said that he and another owner would come and do the repair. They came, did the repair, and proceeded to tell me that these things can happen when you turn valves and basicially tried to say that it was my fault for not having this repaired. They gave me a bill, which I paid, not too happily as they created the problem to begin with. I have used this company since I moved to Rio Rancho 5 years ago and never had a problem with them. However, I had them come and fix a valve in the kitchen faucet and $200 later which I thought was excessive and having to play medic to the plumber who sliced open his hand. I asked them for quote on a new water heater and they never sent that out, apparently they thought I was too much trouble.I will not use the company again.

They were fantastic. They were wonderful. He’s a neighbor who lives down the street, he owns the company, and I’ve used him five to six times for various plumbing, heating, air conditioning, et cetera.
