I was not satisfied with the work that was done for the following reasons:
1. The low spot was not built up sufficiently therefore from the day after the work was completed water ponded on the roof. I called the estimator and informed him that the water still ponded on the roof, he indicated they would schedule their crew to fix this. My calls to schedule this work were not returned after about 4 months despite my leaving messages at the office 3 or 4 times. I finally stopped calling as it be obvious they were not going to fix this problem.
2. Rotten roof decking was not replaced unless I requested it. If I would not have requested that decking be replaced, I am certain no decking would have been replaced. More roof decking should have been replaced because the first day the crew was on site I did not inspect the roof decking as carefully as I did once I realized no roof decking would be replaced unless I requested it. It does not seem like good practice to put a new roof over rotten roof decking.
3. One day the crew showed up without a power saw or nails needed to secure roof decking. I had to loan the crew a saw and supply the nails. The nails that I supplied that were not used by the workers were taken by the crew at the end of the day.
4. Tar was spilled all over the existing sky lights and inside the house at the skylight that was being replaced. None of this was cleaned up by the crew.
5. All of the exposed plastic cement was not painted with aluminum coating. I had to paint several areas after the job was finished.
6. I found more than 100 roofing nails in my driveway after the crew left because they either did not put tarps down where roof debris was thrown to the ground or the traps used were so full of holes only large pieces of debris were collected by the tarps.
7. There were food wrappers and other garbage in the area where the workers ate lunch that was not picked up.
8. Water leaked behind the gravel stop at several locations after the job was finished which is causing the fascia boards to rot.
9. There was a major leak along the entire side of a skylight about one year after the work was completed.
Based on my experience with Adobe Roofing Company Inc, I would not recommend them to anyone because of the poor quality of workmanship, because they did not do what they said they would do, and they do not return phone calls.Adobe scheduled delivery of the shingles for Tuesday afternoon, but the delivery didn't actually happen until Wednesday morning. (They didn't call to say the delivery would be postponed.) Their crew then went to work and finished most of the house and some of the garage that day. They came back the next morning and finished both roofs by early afternoon. They cleaned up enough stuff to fill a truck with debris, and then they left without notice. When I went out both roofs looked good, and I found no substantial debris on the premises. However, there was black grit all over the back patio and on the drive, there was a large number of nails all around the house, and there was a black oil stain on the drive where one of their trucks had been parked. A friend (not a professional roofer) who went up and looked over the roof said everything looked good except that he thought more tar was needed around the skylight. I called Adobe and they sent someone right away to clean up and do the tarring. Their representative then came back later to check everything out, and I paid him. I was satisfied with the work and would use the company again.
