Let me save you some time and headaches - DO NOT USE ADOBE ROOFING. I bought a house that Adobe Roofing had just put a new roof on which came with a 5 year warranty. The 5 year warranty has now expired, and here the summation of problems the roof has had. 2 leaks in a bedroom, 1 leak in the master bedroom, 1 leak in the living room, 3 leaks in the kitchen, and 3 leaks in the garage. Most leaks took multiple calls and multiple visits to fix. They didn't seem to care that my garage was constantly leaking for 3 years in every storm. I told the owner of the company that he needs to put a new roof on because this one clearly has quality problems. He said roofing is easy, and that mistakes weren't possible in the process. I asked if it is so easy then why does my roof have so many leaks, and he walked away from me. He eventually came back, and said he would do a big fix, but that only lasted a year and a half before leaking (just long enough to get out of the warranty).

I was not satisfied with the work that was done for the following reasons:

1.        The low spot was not built up sufficiently therefore from the day after the work was completed water ponded on the roof.  I called the estimator and informed him that the water still ponded on the roof, he indicated they would schedule their crew to fix this. My calls to schedule this work were not returned after about 4 months despite my leaving messages at the office 3 or 4 times. I finally stopped calling as it be obvious they were not going to fix this problem.

2.       Rotten roof decking was not replaced unless I requested it. If I would not have requested that decking be replaced, I am certain no decking would have been replaced.  More roof decking should have been replaced because the first day the crew was on site I did not inspect the roof decking as carefully as I did once I realized no roof decking would be replaced unless I requested it. It does not seem like good practice to put a new roof over rotten roof decking.

3.       One day the crew showed up without a power saw or nails needed to secure roof decking. I had to loan the crew a saw and supply the nails. The nails that I supplied that were not used by the workers were taken by the crew at the end of the day.

4.       Tar was spilled all over the existing sky lights and inside the house at the skylight that was being replaced. None of this was cleaned up by the crew.

5.       All of the exposed plastic cement was not painted with aluminum coating. I had to paint several  areas after the job was finished.

6.       I found more than 100 roofing nails in my driveway after the crew left because they either did not put tarps down where roof debris was thrown to the ground or the traps used were so full of holes only large pieces of debris were collected by the tarps.

7.       There were food wrappers and other garbage in the area where the workers ate lunch that was not picked up.

8.       Water leaked behind the gravel stop at several locations after the job was finished which is causing the fascia boards to rot.

9.       There was a major leak along the entire side of a skylight about one year after the work was completed.

Based on my experience with Adobe Roofing Company Inc, I would not recommend them to anyone because of the poor quality of workmanship, because they did not do what they said they would do, and they do not return phone calls.

Showed up on time. Did work in timely fashion. Had competitive bid for exactly the same work that was considerably higher. Am certain that the new roof will hold up for many years. However, work was sloppy, gravel spread unevenly, swamp coolers moved but replaced in careless fashion and electrical not hooked up properly or at all. Tar on skylights. Had to call them back to correct above issues. They responded quickly to recall.

Our contractor recommended this company during past renovations to our home. They did the roofing on our new additions and when we had a leak in the old part of the house we decided to try them again. The only problem we experienced with them is the initial set up of the work. Getting them to call back can be difficult (have heard this from others also). We finally got their estimator out here and were told he would have an estimate sent to us (he told us verbally what it would be). We agreed to this and scheduled the work that was to be done in the next 2 weeks. That time passed with no estimate and no worker showing up. I finally called after appx. 3 weeks and was told someone would call me back. The next day I was contacted and a time set. They showed up prior to sending the quote but had the paperwork on the truck. The work was done, cleanup done in the time they stated. Estimator and roofer were easy to deal with. Work was done under the quote given. It has not rained since the work was done but we anticipate the problem has been taken care of.

They did a perfect job. They were great; but they didn't clean up after themselves too well.

The estimate from Adobe was the lowest of the proposals I received. The company had been recommended to me by a friend of a friend who is a general contractor. Of the people from whom I received the proposals the one with the highest bid and John with Adobe were the two that struck me on a personal basis as seeming the most trustworthy. When I was ready to make the final decision I asked a friend to help me decide and asked John to return and to talk to both of us about his proposal. He answered all our questions. The work was done promptly and exactly as he had said it would be done. The crew did an excellent job of cleaning up and finished slightly ahead of schedule. With the recent rains, I am glad to say there have been no leaks. I was impressed by their efficiency and concern about doing a good job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend their work.

Working with Adobe Roofing and their estimator/project manager, John, was a pleasent experience from start to finish. John showed up promptly to look at our roof prior to giving us our estimate and had the estimate e-mailed to us the next day. When we let him know they had the contract John said that the work would be scheduled to begin in two to three weeks which was fine as it was notan emergency situation. At this point I got a little concerned as I felt they could have done a better job of giving me updates on the schedule. However when the start date was set (it was within the three week window) the removal crew showed up on time and ready to work. Our old roof was removed in one day. On the next day the installation crew was on the job and the work was completed in another day, two days total. They also did an excellant job of clean-up. A couple of days later John and I looked over the roof and he explained their warrenty. The new roof looks good and performed well through the several rains and wind storms we've had since the roof was completed. Everyone we delt with from Adobe Roofing was polite, professional and skilled and efficient at what they did.

I got a bid from Adobe after getting bids from three other companies. Two of them were from companies highly rated on Angie's list, and the third was from a small contractor who had done some work for a realtor who is going to handle the sale of my home next spring. Adobe was recommended to me by a friend who does remodeling and other work where he has worked with Adobe. He had not personally contracted with them for a roof, but his impression from working with them was that they did good work. Adobe's bid was significantly lower than that of the two top companies, and significantly higher than that of the small contractor. The small contractor was so eager to agree to everything I asked that I felt he didn't have any standards of his own and didn't seem very reliable. The two top-rated companies gave me very professional presentations and seemed likely to do a good job, so I had to satisfy myself that Adobe would do a good job for a more attractive price. They are a family-owned business and aren't quite as instantly responsive as the larger companies, but after a couple of discussions of the terms and their qualifications and warranties, I felt comfortable with them and signed a contract.

Adobe scheduled delivery of the shingles for Tuesday afternoon, but the delivery didn't actually happen until Wednesday morning. (They didn't call to say the delivery would be postponed.) Their crew then went to work and finished most of the house and some of the garage that day. They came back the next morning and finished both roofs by early afternoon. They cleaned up enough stuff to fill a truck with debris, and then they left without notice. When I went out both roofs looked good, and I found no substantial debris on the premises. However, there was black grit all over the back patio and on the drive, there was a large number of nails all around the house, and there was a black oil stain on the drive where one of their trucks had been parked. A friend (not a professional roofer) who went up and looked over the roof said everything looked good except that he thought more tar was needed around the skylight. I called Adobe and they sent someone right away to clean up and do the tarring. Their representative then came back later to check everything out, and I paid him. I was satisfied with the work and would use the company again.

I was pleased with their work. Their workers were congenial. They showed up on time. They did the job specified. I can't complain about them. I got several other estimates and theirs was not the lowest, but probably somewhere in the middle. Their work was good. I didn't have any problems with them. We were in-touch through emails and phone. They showed up when they were supposed to. They were good.

I didn’t spend anything because it was under warranty. I think their work was average. They were slow to call me back but he did a good job once he came.
