ACCENT STAIR & SPECIALTY

We hired Accent Stair twice before to replace the railing on our exterior balcony. This was 3 and 4 years ago. Everything was wonderful. The quality was great, responsiveness was outstanding.
This year I needed another section done and boy are things different.
2 months ago someone came out to look at the sections that needed work. They had no ladder so no close up look and no dimensions. I did say that I was in no hurry but still it took 1 month to get a quote.
Then I had questions and concerns and it took another month to connect with someone. 2 months total!
I decided to schedule a date for the work. My credit card information was taken and I was to pay half as deposit. When I asked what my scheduled date was I was told that they couldn't give me a date! They had my money but I had to wait for their pleasure.
Apparently individual clients are a LOW PRIORITY over their bread and butter big accounts and I would just have to wait until they had time to fit me in and it could be a month or more!
This is such bad business practice. Had I known this I would have gotten a quote from someone else two months ago - someone who actually wanted my business. Needless to say - I don't care to work with a company that doesn't care about it's "small" clients.

They arrived exactly on time to give us the initial assessment, take measurements, and explain our options, all in a no-pressure, non-salesman, professional manner. A few days later, we received the quote for $1,800. They invited us to come to their showroom to see samples of what they were proposing to install and to select some final design details we could choose from. A few weeks later they brought out the handrail they had pre-made in their shop, and spent a few hours tweaking it to fit "just right". And a couple of days after that they arrived to install a perfectly designed and fit, and beautiful to look at, handrail.
Throughout the job they kept in good communication with us to let us know how the process was going. While here they were professional, immaculately clean, on time with every visit. Perhaps it was in part because we were dealing with members of the family who owns it at every step, from measuring, to office scheduling, to installation. Regardless of the reason, the results are what counts, and we are very happy with the entire experience, a recommend them highly.

THIS WAS A CATCH AS CATCH CAN JOB AS I AM ON A LIMITED INCOME. TOM WORKED WITH ME AND WAS ABLE TO LOWER THE COST OF MY JOB USING SALVAGED MATERIAL FROM ANOTHER JOB. IT TOOK 4-5 WEEKS TO FINISH THIS JOB WORKING AROUND BOTH OUR SCHEDULES. THE ONLY STIPULATIONS I PUT ON OTHER THAN THE MEASUREMENTS WAS THAT IT HAD TO BE HEAVY DUTY AS I AM NO LIGHT WEIGHT.

THE JOB HE DID WAS BETTER THAN ANYTHING I EXPECTED. MY PART OF THE JOB WAS TO SCREW ON THE TREX BOARDS TO THE FRAMEWORK AND ATTACH TO THE PORCH(WITH THE HELP OF FRIENDS). TOM CAME BACK TODAY AND FINISHED THE JOB BY WELDING ON THE HANDRAILS. I WAS STUNNED BY HOW GOOD THEY LOOKED AND WERE SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.

WHEN I CAN AFFORD IT I AM GOING TO DO THE PORCH STEPS.

AT ALL TIMES TOM AND THE REST OF THE EMPLOYEES WERE PATIENT AND FRIENDLY AND WERE ALWAYS TRYING TO DO THEIR BEST TO GET ME WHAT I WANTED. I HAVE NO QUALMS WHATSOEVER ABOUT USING THEM AGAIN OR RECCOMENDED THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE.
