Well, we knew we were in trouble when we had to call these guys. We have a solid wood garage door, and it is very, VERY HEAVY. We were legitimate terrified when the brackets started snapping off. I begrudgingly started looking for someone to come help. Off the bat, this company got ALOT right. I received a window when the technician was to arrive, and I told them I would not be home until 9am, and my request was logged not to show up until after that time. The day of the repair, I received a call from the technician when he was about 20 minutes out. When I hung up, the company sent a profile of who I would be expecting, along with some details about him and a picture. When Dustin arrived, he looked over my issues, and provided me with a very detailed explanation of the many problems I was dealing with. We had seriously neglected our garage door, and we were also very aware how neglected it was. He broke his estimate up by things we really need to do (for safety reasons) and more of a wish list. Which I appreciated very much. We had A LOT to do. Dustin was able to find a coupon that really helped with our overhaul, with was also very appreciated. Then he went to work. Dustin worked efficiently and cleaned up after himself the entire way. He was also able to complete the entire repair, THAT DAY! Which was completely unexpected here in the land of mañana. So, it’s been about two weeks since the repair and we are still in awe of how quiet the garage door is. Prior to the repair, I could hear my husband come home. Now, he can sneak up on me! So in short, this company FAR exceeded my expectations and an incredibly FAIR price. I normally feel like a mark when I call for a repair. And avoid doing so. But this experience was different. It is rare to walk away from a service transaction as frustrating as this, and feel like your issue was not only resolved, but you are in a better position than before the dreaded cracking sound. So thank you A1!

The garage door spring broke in the evening (after hours). I left a message requesting a quote and possible time to come out. Call was returned in the morning, quote was given, and appointment was scheduled. Quote was for ~$165 based on the description I could give him, and he stuck with the quoted amount. Mike replaced the spring quickly and answered my questions along the way. I would recommend him, and would call him again.

We called Mike in the afternoon and he fit us in the same day at the end of his work day. He tested all parts of the system and quickly determined there was a problem with the wiring, which he quickly fixed. He also secured the sensors in place such that he left our garage door in better shape than before the problem arose. We would most definitely hire him again if the need arises.

Outstanding. Our garage door will not work with a regular opener, so Mike was able to modify one so that it works perfectly. This was one of our best experiences with a repair person ever. He was on time, worked hard, and the price for what he did was outstanding. I highly recommend him. He was great!

The tech determined the LED photoelectric safety sensor was beginning to malfunction. Visually, the red LED indicator on the photocell assembly was becoming dim and they should be bright if they are working properly. Replaced both sensors and the door closes correctly now.

We've had other companies work on it in the past, but were never satisfied with their services. First of all, Mike Jackson from A-1 actually promptly returned our initial phone call. He arrived at the appointed time, looked over our door and within five minutes had our door performing better than we have ever seen in the eight years we've owned this house. Not only is Mike a superb technician, he is extremely knowledgable, charges reasonable prices and is a super nice guy.

Purchased a new garage door opener at Sears and wanted to have it installed. When he came out for the install he pointed out the garage door was too old to properly operate an electronic garage door opener. Decided to also have him install a new garage door. Work was done within a few days and the new garage door and opener are nice and work well. On time, helpful, professional. Would recommend.

I had a problem with my garage door panel cracking because of a poor door design. I called Mike and described the problem and he said he was pretty sure he could just add a strut to "beef up" the door and it would only cost the standard service call fee. I was scheduled out a few days and he arrived on time, added the strut and checked to make sure the door was adjusted properly. He only charged the standard service fee. No attempt to upsell other services or charge extra for the strut. I would use him again and recommend him to others.

Technician arrived at the exact time specified with all the tools and replacement parts needed to complete all necessary repair actions. He proceeded to carefully remove the broken spring as well as the other spring. His actions were accomplished carefully and professionally throughout.

He came with only an hour's notice and he fixed the door in 30 minutes.  That saved us lots of problems with caregivers coming in and out of the garage.

Steve has been working on my old garage door opener for the past two years to keep it running.  Last weekend, it finally quit, and he came to my home this morning to replace it. He is always kind and very honest, and I will always call him when needed.
