Service Provider ResponseThis missed bid was completely my fault, and I take full responsibility. I do feel an explanation is warranted after the pointed member review above. Our initial bid was mis-scheduled and then removed from our bid schedule book. A schedule which has us giving up to 10-15 bids daily as well as the management of active jobs. By the time the member contacted me and I realized the initial appointment had been mis-scheduled it was already after the initial had been missed. I rescheduled for the time I had initially had scheduled but had to write over the previously crossed out appointment. In the rush of a very busy day I overlooked the removed and rescheduled notes. I sent the member a personal apology as soon as I realized what had happened, but apparently it did not suffice. This is a very rare occurrence, but unfortunately it does happen, as in any of our schedules. Our apologies to this customer again.
Service Provider ResponseThis customer tried to force me into painting the majority of a one bedroom apartment she has above her home. She literally threatened me with the review you read above if I didn't paint the living room, entryway, kitchen, and hallway areas of what she's calling "one room", but what is really just an open floor plan. We do offer these "Big Deal" promotions, at a profit loss, as a way of showing our appreciation to our Angieslist customers and to gain (of course) some good ratings. While we want to make all our customers happy, as an honest business person, I will not be coerced by an unethical and abusive customer. I told this customer that I would "gladly take her 'F' grade instead of being taken advantage of.", and I told her that I would "write a warning to all other Angieslist vendors to avoid her abuse of the system at all costs!" Again, no work was performed for this customer!

However, we did attempt to reschedule, and even offered to discount the increased cost of doing a kitchen on the "Big Deal" promotion this customer had purchased, which is outside the scope of the promotion. Our apologies for the error to this valued member for any time wasted. We'd still love to make it up to you! Please call us at your convenience to allow us to try.
Service Provider ResponseThis is a completely unfair and dishonest review! Years of "A" ratings from our amazing Angieslist customers, and then an "F" from a non-customer I've never met who decides to be vindictive by posting this completely bogus review as a form of revenge for my company not doing what they want?! Extremely bad form [member name removed]! My company's price for a two car garage has been $600.00 plus materials for years. I even gave this customer a price break of -$100, but when I spoke to her the day before doing the work to get her color choice she insisted that I throw in materials as well. This garage would require up to 10gal @$20/gal in materials, take a good portion of a day for a 3-4 man crew, and the job was in a rural location. I guess [member name removed] thinks we Angieslist providers are really just here to work for free! I'd rather take the unfair & vindictive "F" than work for a customer like this! All the customers who we actually work for love us. Angieslist should find a way to protect reputable business' from vindictive customers like this one. We've been getting reviews since at least 2008, and the only negative reviews you'll see come from customers I chose not to work for, because they came across as abusive. I think that this says more about the reviewer than the review says about my company.
