The 2nd Generation Painter, is Jason Sierra, who has been painting since he was little, with his dad Joe. Jason has a painting crew of 5, and depending on the job, could expand to 15. 2nd Generation Painter, LLC. does not use subcontractors, however we are contracted out by other local painting companies when needed. We had a home built and Jason bid out our home.  I showed him the plans on our home and gave him the exact square footage.  He gave us the best bid and promised a quality paint job.  We moved in our home June 7th, 2011 and today is November 7th, 2011 AND our home is still NOT finished.  He still has 20-25% of the work still to do.  He used interior stain on an alder exterior door and it is now completely ruined and looks absolutely terrible.  The door has to be stripped and completely re-stained.  Both of our garages have not been finished at all.  All of our trim and interior doors (26 doors) have not been finished.  There are lots of drip lines, spray lines, and the paint color varies in different spots.  We have still have numerous painters tape throughout the house, painted over tape (if you can believe that), caulking coming up from baseboards, roll lines, bubbling on the vents, several uneven lines on baseboards, and spots that never even got painted.  And, let me remind you that this is a brand-new custom home.  He has promised to come and finish at least 25 times (I am not exaggerating this) and he never shows up.  He has lied to us more than we can count.  He talks a big game and tells you all of these "promises" and about all of his experience, but does not come through.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  HE WILL LIE TO YOU AND MAKE EMPTY PROMISES.  Our home is still not finished and we gave him so many chances to finish.  He has a pattern of bidding out jobs, getting the bid and doing half of the job to get paid and then leaves you high and dry.  WATCH OUT for him!  We got burned BADLY by him and are out so much money (at least $2500) to finish what he never finished, to fix the things he did poorly (as listed above), and to repair the front door that he ruined.  Getting on Angie's List is the last thing we wanted to do.  Exposing one's flaws is never something we want to do, but we also DON'T WANT ANYONE else to go through what we have gone through in the last nine months.

Jason and Renee are very nice and trustworthy people. They came in with a very good bid and performed all of the work that we contracted them for. They did a very good job with contrasting walls and lines, as well as not getting paint on any of my property that wasn't supposed to have been painted. They also worked around our general contractor who made a mistake and Renee was quick to bring it to my attention which I truly appreciated. If I had one complaint it would be that they could not seem to be on time.

This company did an excellent job for a very competitive price. They were friendly, prompt, responsive to any concerns such as matching paint colors, and were extremely considerate about cleaning up after themselves. I plan to call them back in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an honest and talented painter.

First experience using an Angie's List provider. Chose this small, family firm over a larger competitor because of lower bid and desire to support the smaller provider. Received no formally-written proposal with details. The majority of the work was done correctly, quickly and well (no paint spills, damage to plants, etc.). Had to remind to do work that was verbally agreed on. Although the work was completed when reminded, did not like this aspect of having nothing to fall back on other than verbal agreement. There were a couple small items that were not done, but was glad to have had the major items completed. Were respectful of property.

I was very pleased with this company's work. Renee and Jason, along with their helper, Richard, were all very professional, yet down-to-earth, making them very easy to work with on this project. They were very accommodating to my questions, needs and requests. I was impressed with their attention to detail in not only the painting, but in keeping me informed of their progress, explaining things along the way, and their "can do" attitude. I liked their payment schedule, dividing it into thirds, and I thought it was nice that Renee left me a file folder with the custom-mixed paint information included for any future paint touch-ups or repainting that we may need. They were very trustworthy and I felt fine leaving them alone to "do their stuff" while I was gone. Everything was left clean and neat and picked up at the completion of the job. Again, I really liked their attention to detail on painting in some tight corners, behind large kitchen and utility room appliances, for removing and replacing outlet covers, etc. Great job, you guys!
