They claim they told me upfront that they couldn't clear the clog because there was a 90 curve in the pipe and it was the wrong piece, and that the 90 had come lose and water was all over under the house. But this is not true. They said nothing until he had spent most of the hour trying to clear the clog and then he looked under the house and informed me of these issues. Also, the 90 coming off and the water under the house was from him continuing to snake the pipe until it came lose and him running the water after it came lose. I know this because I had been under the house a few days earlier for another project and the 90 wasn't off and their was no water under the house. At this point I offered to go under the house and place the head of the snake in the pipe where it had separated which was a straight run to the sewer pipe, but he declined. And just so you are aware, the whole pipe was only went 13 feet before connecting to the sewer line and the whole house is only 28 feet long.

I thought they were unreasonably expensive. They charge $90 an hour for two worker to install this unit. They originally quoted us $60 an hour. As far as to work goes it was pretty good. When they took the old water heater out, it was rusty and dripped all over our driveway and garage. They didn't bring any rags and we had to clean it up ourselves with kitty litter, which was a tough job for elderly people. They were polite and friendly though.

"[member name removed], I apologize for the mis-understanding on our labor rate, our rates are $60 per hour for a plumber and $30 per hour for a helper, if your water heater was corroded and could not drain, it would weigh around 400 pounds for these instances we must have two technicians to lift the old unit and get it hauled off. Our technicians are trained to leave every job clean and debris free, I apologize that did not happen in this case. I will investigate why the crew did not follow our procedures for cleaning.
