The owner Dave Bogert is professional, honest and very knowledgeable.  He is a pleasure to deal with and had made suggestions for future tire replacements and where to purchase them to save money.  His shop is very similar to what you find at a BMW dealer without the exorbitant prices.  Needless to say, Dave will have all my future business.

The service was impeccable.  The advice was fabulous.  The work was
first class. My car performed better than ever, could not be more
happy.  About a year later, I brought the car for a repair that he
thought was going to be about 1,000.00  He called me to say it was only a
battery- IT DOESNT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT- honesty and integrity.
I'm
bringing the car back to have my muffler changed. I'm looking forward
to the usual great service and quality workmanship. Don't consider
anyone else. Either take your car to the dealer and get ripped off by
them or bring your car to inexperienced shops- OR bring it to Dave and be HAPPY.

The work was done efficiently and quickly- we were in and out in one day.  On top of that, the actual cost of the repair was below the estimate.
I started going to Motor Works West 8 years ago when I bought a used '94 3 series that needed some TLC and now bring our X3 and 330i for any and all service needs.
Dave and the guys at Motor Works West are top notch.  They are true BMW experts and at the same time unfailingly pragmatic and pro customer.   Unlike the dealer service departments, who pounce on you as soon as the warranty's up,  Dave takes the time to fully diagnose the car and then tells exactly what it needs and when, with no pressure.  For example, my wife brought her car to the dealer for a detail.  While she was there, they gave her a list of $3,000 worth of issues that needed to be fixed "ASAP". 
I took the car to Dave, who reviewed their list and put our minds at ease; most of the items were not urgent.  He fixed the one that was a priority for way less than what was quoted and told us what to watch for on the other items.  We left with a safe, repaired car and peace of mind.
I highly recommend Motor Works West for all BMW repairs.  They are BMW experts, trustworthy and pro-customer!

The quality of equipment that they have is second to none.  The service here is top notch - first class.  The prices are very reasonable.  The owner, Dave, is just a nice guy.  The workers there work hard and take pride in their job.  They take pride in your ownership of the vehicle and the make.  When they say they will get something done on the time, 99% of the time they are exactly right.  If not, they will call you.  You cannot go wrong when bringing your car.  I highly recommend them.

This company only works on BMW's and are very professional, skilled and knowledgeable. I have taken my '09 5 series there for service since I purchased the car new. They satisfactorily performed all non-warranty work, i.e. extra oil changes, etc.
Dave Bogert pointed out a leaking left front differntial and advised how to present the situation to the dealer in order to have it covered under warranty...they did.
Motor Works West is 30 miles from my house. I would not consider taking my car anywhere else for service.

I brought my car here because it was an independent shop, but specializing in BMWs. The last time I had my car to the dealer's, they had indicated that the rotors were below specs, the brake pads were at 20%, and that I would need to replace the rotors when the brake light came on. The agent implied that I should get the brakes done before the brake light came on, which is why I took it in a few weeks after the dealer service. The person I talked to at Motor Works indicated prices for the pads and rotors, and also indicated that usually if one set of brakes and rotors are needed, the other is usually also in need of replacement. I also asked them if they knew of any way to remove the fog that develops on the windshield when the defroster is used. At first, they thought I meant water vapor, but after further clarification, said they would try to determine why it was fogging so severely. At the end of the day, they said the brakes still had a good many miles left in them, and they couldn't justify replacing them at this time. They indicated that it is best to jsut wait until the brake light comes on, because the brakes still have 500-1000 miles left on them at this point (I later confirmed from another source that this is true). They also tried to find a reason for the fogging, but were unable to detect anything wrong. In the process they took apart the vent system, etc. They also went over the car, and recommended a number of items that were not urgent that I should consider next time I bring it in. These included headlamp cleaning (they are quite sand-blasted), minor corrosion issues, talk lamp bulb carrier replacement. The only charge was for the time spent in checking out the defroster issue.

I could not have been more impressed! Motor Works West was very thorough in their inspection of the car, and excellent in their communication throughout the day. They called with their assessment, spelled out what was and wasn't important to take care of immediately, and made recommendations to keep the vehicle in great shape while not breaking my bank. They also checked out the washer pump and were able to replace it quickly and at a very reasonable charge. They estimated that the work would be finished around 4:00 ... and it was! The total cost for repairs actually came in a few dollars less than they had estimated, thanks to their being able to get a part at a slightly lower cost. These guys are very honest, excellent at what they do, and it's clear that their customers' satisfaction is their highest priority. I would recommend them to anyone with a BMW.

This dealership is very thorough. I think they are good when it comes to checking up on the cars you buy from them. They hire people who know about this particular make and model and they are very helpful. We do not find their prices to be outrageous either.

BMW Specialists are honest and trustworthy. They are also very nice and polite people. The prices here are typical for BMW services. I've gone here for all of my BMW needs including oil changes and repairs. The people here are very professional and helpful.
