Interior Design and Decorating
In July it was discovered that the demolition person was uninsured, unbonded and we refused to continue with the company. No contracts were signed and I requested my $1000 deposit returned. DiDiego maintains that this person is insured under her policy. She is a licensed decorator NOT a licensed contractor. My husband felt this was asking for trouble. The demolition person also returns home to Brazil in October (works 6 mos. in US). There would be no way to recoup any expenses for damages caused by him. The tile person estimated for diamond drill bits ??($1760), and $19,000 to remove and re-tile the floor. The total estimate was $24,941.75. The entire job (demolition, electrical, plumbing, tile) is now being done for $19,000. She returned $172.84 from my original $1000 - subtracted $464.68 for April appliance discount (she was paid $500 for services 6/11/07), charged for e-mails, clerical costs, etc. Small claims 9/27 rec'd $200 judgment due on 10/3. Rec'd 10/6/07.
