The Pool Company Inc

About us

50 years ago this family business operated as a small service company working out of my parents’ garage. In the early 1970’s, they opened up this retail location. In 1997, we took over and renamed the business The Pool Company, expanding our services and products. We have grown since the early days thanks to your loyalty and continuing to shop locally. Over the years, your patronage has also helped us provide hundreds of job opportunities. We look forward to providing you with the best service and products for years to come. Thank you.

I've used The Pool Company for openings, closings and repairs ever since I bought my house in 1992.  I've always found them to be knowledgeable and responsive.  They show up when they say that they will.  Over the years, I've twiced replaced my pump system and replaced the mesh cover.  In every instance, they've made the process hassle-free.  I can recommend them very highly.

We installed a new gunite (concrete/plaster) pool and needed a company to help us with the initial plaster care. New pools of this type require brushing twice a day and chemical adjustments to maintain the proper Ph during the first couple of weeks in order to properly cure the plaster.Twice during the week of service they provided i came home to a pool full of debris and a clogged filter. The company claimed that they performed the services but that the timing of the services resulted in the pool being still and full of leaves, etc. After taking on the care of the pool myself, I am convinced that they didn't perform the services they provided. No one on the service management team ever visited the pool to understand if there was anything unique that the pool attendents would need to be mindful of though I had requested that several times. Most days we had different pool attendents who didn't know the services that had been provided previously. They were also not empowered to do anything without calling back to the office, yet no one at the office had ever visited the property. Each time I called the office, the office workers were defensive and in a constant mode of explaining why it couldn't possibly be their fault, rather than trying to address the issue. In one case, one of the attendents had adjusted valves to the filter that he shouldn't have touched. I called their office to ask them not to do that and they denied that they had been touched. Even when I called to fire them the woman I spoke to continued to be defensive and tried to tell me that the filter being clogged, the water barely moving int the pool and excessive debris were all 'normal' parts of the pool start up process. I called another company to take over. The owner of the company himself came by and spent close to 45 minutes reviewing the set up, teaching us how to take care of things, and offering a slightly modified plan to finish the curing process.

"Thank you for taking the time to review us. We appreciate your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve. We are sorry that you did not have a positive experience. As we begin the 2012 swim season, we will look for ways to improve communication with our customers. One of these will be better documentation among our maintenance specialists, who are NSI-trained, CPO certified. Ours is a family owned and operated swimming pool service that has been in business for 50 years. We are always striving to improve our services and offer the best products available."
