The issue with Mr. Sandless was that we experienced collateral damage in the form of varnish on our painted moldings and also several chips to our newly finished radiator! When I addressed the issue by calling the owner, he offered no solution, but rather said it would have taken too long for his guys to protect the painted moldings! This provider's sloppy work is going to cost us hundreds to remedy. Additionally, we chose this provider because the company claims minimal dust is created during refinishing and I was willing to pay a premium for this benefit as I have an infant and did not want dust in the air; now that the varnish has to be removed from the painted moldings, they will have to be sanded by hand (thereby creating a lot of dust and defeating the purpose of paying a premium to hire "Mr. Sandless"!).

My problem is that the job was described as one that would take a long day---into the evening --or a day and a half. Actually, they were done in seven hours. I was told that they would put on four coats of finish. I have no way of knowing if they did, but I suspect they didn't.
In addition, we were very careful in protecting the new finish which we were told we could walk on right away and would cure in two days. We have been very careful, but some marks showed-up pretty quickly. I think the curing process takes longer than described and the new finish is not as hard as the original finish.
For $1475, it seems to me that the owner/operator and one helper did very well for seven hours of work.

He stands behind the services. He's very upfront in terms of the pricing and the service he actually provides. The quality of the work is exactly what he had mentioned upfront before the service was administered. So it's very fair, reasonable and I think the money that I've invested is very much used. I had no probelems with him. He was there on time as he had promised. The duration of the work was exactly accurate. The communication was very efficient. He returned my calls in a very timely manner. So I have no complaints whatsoever.

fortunately for me the apt was empty so little furniture to move but he promptly came at 9am, and proceeded to do the job and was finished in about 5 hours.
I had a large dining and living room, office area, bedroom and hall.
I will highly recommend this service to my friends and family

Barry Kolb owner of Mr. Sandless, did a perfect job. He explained every detail of the process. The job took 2 hours from start to finish. The "sandless" technique is truly amazing because the sanding dust is contained via a special machine that vacuums it to an outside containment system. The finish he used was non toxic and the floor was dry in about two hours. I took several pictures and we are extremely happy with Barry.

Barry arrived punctually and worked with me on settling at the right price for the job. Basically I bought a house that had wood floors throughout. Barry not only honored my coupon but in addition offered to polish/repair the stairs and the upstairs bathroom at no additional charge. He recommended that one bedroom upstairs be sanded if I wanted it to look great since it was so worn down and beat up and stained. Since I didn't want to go that route, he offered to color the wood in certain areas so it more closely matched the rest of the floors. Again, no extra charge for this. The end result looked amazing. I was extremely happy with the results and couldn't ask for more for the price. And a week later, when my electrician scratched the floors in 3 different areas I called Barry to see if he could come back and touch up those areas. Barry didn't hesitate to come back and repaired all the areas for no charge. Wow! That is truly great customer service. And to top it off, several children were at our house about a month ago and one managed to place a 20 foot scratch along our living room floor. Barry stopped by with his daughter who was home from college, repaired the scratch, and so the newly repaired section would blend seamlessly with the rest of the floor he decided to polish the entire living room floor. When I asked him how much he said don't worry about it and said whatever money I wanted to give him just to give it to his daughter for college books etc. I wish all contractors were this great. Outstanding service and outstanding work. And a truly nice guy to boot.

I called around and he was very responsive. I gave them less than 14 hours to do the job on Friday at 5 p.m. He came out the next day early in the morning and finished it in about 5-6 hours before I got home. They did a great job.

Barry came by to give estimate. Due to the amount of paint on the floor (entire floor was painted), they would have to sand. We were able to pick the color of the finish since they were sanding. Set up appointment for following week to have it done. They arrived on time and began to work. Sanding perobably took about 3 hours. We could not even tell it had been done since there was no dust at all left in the room or rest of the house. The color we picked matched the existing hardwood floors quite well. The rest of the finishing also took about 3 hours. They cleaned up and explained how to properly care for wooden floors. The time and $ would have been halfed if the floor did not have the paint and did not have to be sanded.
The floor came out looking great and we are very pleased. The only thing negative was they were not able to do anything under the radiator. It still has then old paint and is not refinished. Since we do have a radiator cover, it cannot be seen, but it bothers my wife slightly that it is there.
We would recommend Mr Sandless and will use them again in the future when we get to the rest of thouse.

We decided to remove the carpeting in our living and dining rooms and have the hardwood floors refinished. I had seen a segment on one of the cable home shows and on the internet about Mr Sandless a couple of years ago and decided to call them and see if our floors could be refinished without all the hassles of traditional refinishing (the smell, the time to dry, the problem keeping pets off the floor, the loss of access to the rooms, etc). Barry came out to look at the floors for an evaluation. Since we had some problem areas with our floor that existed because of selective sanding during the installation of the carpeting 14 years ago as well as damage done during carpet cleaning over the years, Barry suggested that we should make some minor repairs to one corner of the LR and then have the floor sanded and stained to the color we wanted to correct the problems then have it refinished using the Mr Sandless methods. I agreed with him, and he gave me the estimate and scheduled the sanding people for me the next week, after which he would refinish the wood and install the necessary finishing around the LR/DR/Hall area the next day after they were complete. Just as promised everything went as scheduled. The necessary repairs to the floor were made. The sanding went very well and the staining was completed and dried by the evening of the first day. Barry then came the next day and refinished the floors using multiple coats of the Mr Sandless materials and methods. By the end of the day we were able to actually walk on the floors since the drying time is amazingly fast. We never lost the use of the house at night during the whole refinishing period which is impossible if you were to use traditional refinishing methods. The floors came out looking great and we are very pleased with the job performed.

This is not truly refinishing; more of a cleaning and polishing of a wood floor. It is not a refinish as there is no sanding off of the old sealant. This would be good for a floor that had been urethaned at an earlier time and the color of the old sealant is the color you want. It will not lighten the color if the old sealant has yellowed (as in shellac from the 40s, 50s, or 60s. So if you do not know for sure if the old sealant is polyurethane check first. The website and the company owner should share this information better when estimating. As long as you like the color of the floor as it is this is quick, not messy and non toxic. I would use this company again but only on floors that have been previously sanded and finished with true urethane. I have two more rooms to do and I will have to have them sanded as they are also sealant from the 60s that has yellowed.
