The woman who answered the phone when I called was very helpful and was able to promptly schedule an appointment for us. When Mr. Ruel arrived he looked at our water heater and saw that it had already started to leak. He replaced the water heater in a timely and professional manner and was so neat that aside from the new water heater, we couldn't even tell that someone had done work in our home. We would highly recommend Mr. Ruel and would definitely use him again for any of our other plumbing & heating needs.
Description of Work: My husband and I purchased our first home in April of 2010. We knew when we bought it that that the water heater was over 10 years old would need to be replaced sooner rather than later. We started having intermittent issues with hot water in September. Having heard nothing but good things from our friends about Mr. Ruel, we called him to replace our water heater before we had a big problem on our hands.

No one responded to my message, and I decided to go with a general contractor who could do plumbing, electrical, painting and flooring.

As the owner/operator of my company, I take my business practices very seriously, and strive to give each customer and each potential customer, prompt and courteous service. I want to apologize to this potential customer for her impression of my company. I never received an email from this homeowner, or my office staff would have responded promptly. I have been having trouble receiving some of my emails through my website, and have not been successful in correcting the problem. It is interesting because my office did receive a phone call from a homeowner with a similar problem. My office stated that while we did not service her particular type of heating, we would be happy to replace her water heater. The homeowner stated she was looking for a general contractor to take care of all her needs. The conversation ended amicably, and the homeowner was told to please call again if we could be of help. I have been in business for many years, and value each call I receive. My company is small and able to provide quick and professional services and my customers have been with me for many years. Perhaps this is the same customer who spoke with my office directly, and not through an email, or perhaps this homeowner call multiple companies and got me confused with someone else. Even though I never did get the opportunity to do work for this homeowner, I am truly sorry she has a less than favorable impression of my company. I always welcome new customers, and I thank you for giving me the chance to resond to this report.

Description of Work: i had a backed up sewer. i called in the morning and was told i would be seen 2nd in the day. he came before 10am and checked the basement and listened to my description of the problem. he said it could be a clog anywhere from the house to the road and that it very possibly would need a roto rooter type of snaking. he didn't charge me because he didn't want me to maybe have to pay twice, once to him (and if he couldn't help, then a second time. i really appreciated his honesty and although i didn't use him today, i absolutely will in the future. integrity goes a long way nowadays. thank you much and merry christmas!

There was a leak in the return pipe of my steam furnace, and I was fortunate enough to have Michael respond the same day I called to come out and fix the trouble. Not only did he fix that problem, but he identified another, and fixed at the same time. He was professional, courteous, responsive, and he even whistled while he worked.

Outstanding workmanship. Very clean. He is very attentive, arrived on time.
Description of Work: We had a clogged toilet. He unclogged, put in all new parts in toilet. The entire toilet needed to come up. Also put in new sink faucets. Re-caulked beautifully.

Michael Ruel is a good plumber and I have used him for years. He is very punctual, neat and courteous. He comes when I call him which is rare for plumbers. He is clean and never leaves a mess.
