A sub-contractor showed up, not Huggins. Only one worker spoke English. The worker who spoke english was the foreman and he admitted he hadn't been there the entire time. They were not the cheapest of 3 bids, when they 'forgot' to charge for the stairs, the price was exorbitant, they didn't use Minwax products, which I was told they would. They claimed to put two coats of poly throughout the house and a third coat in the kitchen. When it looked like that wasn't the case, I had another floor re-finisher come in and he 'almost guaranteed' that this wasn't the case. One coat almost for sure. The finish on the floor has chipped and both blue and green painters tape pulled off finish when I was painting about 1 month later. (to give the finish time to cure) A repair of a damaged section of floor was so poorly done, it had to be re-done but only after I INSISTED and it became clear that I wasn't going to let it go. I had to show the nephew the owner a repair I done in some sections of the living room 10 years previous and I'm not a professional to make it clear that I was aware of how it should look after he told me how it was the best they could do to match the original floor (the house was built in the late 50s). The 'foreman' never even saw the repair! I hired Huggins because they were middle of the road on price and had been in business for 20+ years in Cranford. What a mistake. Unfortunately, my floors will need to be redone to bring out the beauty of hardwood. Whatever products they used makes them look like those floors is a cheap subdivision. Home Depot's and Lowe's prefinished flooring looks much nicer. My strong advice to use anyone but Huggins. This is as polite as I can manage and it's been 10 months since they did the job.
Description of Work: Refinished and stained the oak floors in my entire house. The house was 100% empty.
