Last spring Hansel Carpets replaced our wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms, stairs and foyer. We were very happy with the service and quality. So we decided to use Hansel again for our utility basement floors. We wanted to tile the basement with vinyl tiles. However, since the floors are uneven, especially where the walls meet the floors, the owner, Manny suggested we remove the existing old tiles and paint the floors with epoxy and colorflecks. Manny also gave us the idea to paint the ceiling and duct work black, to give a neater appearance. What a difference this work has made! We are extremely happy with the outcome. Manny’s crew is reliable, knowledgeable and hard working. We highly recommend Hansel for all flooring needs.

The process from start to finish went well. Mitzi assisted us in picking out the appropriate carpet grade. We took home samples in order to select the right color gray. Manny came to measure and after our paint job the new carpets were installed. The crew (installer and two assistants) were punctual, very polite and knowledgeable in moving large pieces of furniture and installing carpets. Note: We paid extra for the two-step process (ripping out first on one day and then install another day after our paint job), as this suited our needs.

It took 2-1/2 months to schedule delivery/installation. This wasn't a big problem because I wasn't in a rush. The day before the scheduled installation we had a heavy storm and lost power. I called to let them know but I was told the installers didn't need power for most of the job. By the next day power was returned and the installation began. About half way through, we lost power again. The installers said they could not continue and left with the strips of tacks that secure the carpet exposed (and sharp). When I was sure power would remain on, I called and scheduled for the following day. The installers arrived and finished the job. After they left I realized that the tiles installed by the doors were higher than the carpeting, and the edges of the tiles were uneven and sharp. (See photo) I called the salesman and explained the problem. He promised to call back. He didn't. It took three calls and an email message before he returned my call. I thought the tiles were unsafe but didn't want to spend any more on different tiles, so I said to use the carpeting that remained to finish to entrance ways. He said there would be an additional charge. I agreed because I thought I was making the change because I simply didn't like the tiles. When the installers came to redo the doorways, it was not the same team of installers who did the job. I was told the first team no longer worked for Hansel Carpets. As they removed the tiles, they explained the many things the previous installers had done wrong. I was still charged an extra $250 to correct the problems caused by the inept installers Hansel Carpets had employed. Seems to me they should have paid for their mistakes.

Pricing was competitive and point of contact was helpful and clear. Only issue was with the management of expectations on the timeline. I needed the work completed prior to move-in to our new house and they initally committed to my timeline. I then received a call saying that the job was "big" and that they needed more time. After some discussion they said they would "do their best" to complete the job according to the agreed-upon timeline. In the end, they completed on time and they did a nice job. I would use them again and recommend them, but I take issue with over-promising.

The shop offers many choices to suit all tastes and budgets. Ordering and installation of carpet was a breeze with great communication. Workers arrived as expected and completed the work in one day. They did a great job installing carpet on our stairs. Since we had wood floors in the bedroom before, Hansells also arranged to have the carpenter shave a little off the bottom of our bedroom door so it would not drag on the new carpet. This was a nice touch and only cost $30. The one thing to get straight is whether you need to move furniture prior to the workers arriving. We were told that the workers would do this for us, but the workers that arrived did not expect to do this. Since my wife was at home with two small children, it was important that the workers could do this for us. The workers grumbled only momentarily, this work was not easy with dressers, queen size bed etc in the way, and got the job done. I would just ensure all communication is clearer in future and then you should be 100% with this store.

The men who did the installation were professional. The salesman was very nice. I was just disappointed that the carpet wasn't as plush as I would like.

everything went great. did alot of research on carpet dealers. Decided on Hansel's carpet. My research was correct. the whole experience was very professionally. The installation took about 2 hours. Would recommend them to anyone

The entire experience went exceptionally well. The store was very patient in helping me select a carpet runner that would be most appropriate for my area. They told me up front that if they didn't feel the installers would be able to make the curving stair area look good, they would let me know and not do the job. They did the job and it came out fabulous. The curving stair (90 degree angle) portion blends nicely with the rest of the stairs as well as the hallway above. I ran into my salesman later at another store in town and he remembered my name and asked about how the carpet was holding up. Love the small town service!

Our experience was pleasant. The showroom is small, but has a large selection of samples. The sales staff was knowledgeable and willing to spend time with us, even thought we weren't buying expensive carpet. Installation went smoothly, and the carpet and padding were of the quality promised.

Manny from Hansel's carpets came out to measure the apartment (the only one of the five I called who offered to do so). Hector and Roberto (two installers who do work for Hansel's carpets) came out and installed the carpet. They helped move the furniture and take out the old carpet. The only complaint was more of a communication problem between Manny and the two installers. I have a strange floorbase which requires longer nails to secure the tacklines which anchor the carpet. My father had to go to home depot to get the nails after Hector and Roberto showed up. In addition Manny did not tell them they needed a metal free form piece for the transition between the hallway and kitchen. Like any time you have workers in your home you need to make sure they do a good job. These were the only two glitches, I would recommend the installers again.

THIS COMPANY WORKED VERY EFFICIENTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. I WAS VERY PLEASED AND HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. THEY ALSO REMOVED THE OLD CARPETING AND DISPOSED OF IT FOR ME.
