Description of Work: We hired Fred Davies of Master Craft Homes to rebuild our home after complete loss due to Hurricane Sandy. We were in contract with Master Craft/Fred Davies to build a complete 4 bedroom home for $221,000. When his workers did show up to do work at our house, it was once or twice a week and then we would not see anyone for weeks at a time. To date we paid $95,000 which is into section 3.6 of our contract. At that point we should have given Mr. Davies a total of five checks but because he was constantly calling and asking for money and we were desperate to get our three small children home, we gave him many advances totaling 12 payments along with numerous runs to Lowes or Home Depot to buy supplies which for some reason or another he could not get. Mr. Davies has not completed half of the work he was paid for at our home and stopped working stating that he needed more money because all the money we gave him was gone. After months of being harassed for money ahead of contract I finally stopped paying him in advance of completing the work. When I asked him for an invoice of the money he spent he sent us a bogus statement that had over $62,000 in false charges on it for things that he did not do nor did we receive. Aside from not completing what he was paid for, Mr. Davies also put windows in our house that are half the size of what they were supposed to be according to our plans. This is evident when you go inside of our house, you can see the windows were originally framed for the proper size and then reframed for the smaller ones. Finally, the little bit of work Mr. Davies did do is all incorrect leaving us with over $30,000 in repairs for our incomplete foundation, improperly framed home & leaving our family homeless for an even longer time than necessary. BEWARE!!!

Description of Work: We hired Fred Davies of Mastercarft Home Builders in the Jersey shore area after our home was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy. We paid him $1000 to provide a licensed engineer's report on the house, and to take that engineer's report and create a proposal for rebuilding our home, line by line, with cost estimates, for submission to our insurance carrier to assist us in our insurance claim process. It was to be completed in 2 weeks. After nearly 2 months we had received nothing. We asked for our money back, and he agreed since he did not done the work. Then a few days later we received a useless report from an unknown company with vague egineering-like statements and no indication that this was from a licensed engineering company. Fred Davies told us we were not getting what he originally agreed to, he would not be creating the report that we needed for insurance, and he woud not be giving us any of our $1000 back. We are in the process of filing criminal charges against him.
