During every visit there are 2 girls that come out to clean - the one that always does an impeccable job and another one that does a decent/so-so job. So after a typical cleaning visit, there's usually one part of my home where I'm really satisfied with the quality of the service and then another part of the home where I'm just content. My wife and I try to be fair, because we realize that we're probably pickier than average when it comes to these things.
Another thing worth mentioning is that in our home we do not wear shoes. This hasn't been an issue for the 2 girls that we have during our regular cleaning cycle. However, we have encountered 1 or 2 others that were either reluctant or didn't want to take their shoes off when we asked them to. The good thing is that you can report feedback like this to the cleaning coordinator Traci, and she'll make sure the issue doesn't come up again.
Overall, Clean and Green Services is a well run small business. The prices are fair, and our experience has been generally positive over the years.

The girls are also very pleasant
Jeanine toured my 2BR apartment, answered my questions and quoted me a fair, reasonable price. She explained how everything would work and encouraged me to take my time to make up my mind before committing to their service. And she never missed a beat when I asked her to produce current copies of C&G's bond and insurance.
I was quoted a price of $100 for the initial cleaning and $75 each month thereafter for monthly service. I felt this was fair so I decided to move forward.
Unfortunately, the job that was done wasn't completely up to snuff. The bathroom wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been and dusting was hit or miss. I wasn't expecting perfection but I was definitely expecting the cleaning basics--dusting and a clean bathroom--especially for what was supposed to be an extra-thorough initial cleaning (for which I was rightfully charged more than the standard monthly charge.)
I voiced my concerns to Jeanine and she was quick apologize and offer up a re-do. The re-do was done about a week later by the same crew but it--again--wasn't up to snuff. Once again, my bedroom furniture (especially the lamps) was actually left dustier than before the they'd been cleaned! I can only guess that they used some sort of damp, dusty rag that ended up leaving more dust and lint behind than it removed.
I took some pictures and sent them to C&G and said that I'd leave it up to them as to whether or not the job that was done was up to their standards. Two days later I got a call and an apology and an offer to have a different crew commence from this point forward should I still wish to utilize their services.
I'm going to hang in there and hope for the best. I don't know why there seems to be such a problem with something as basic as dusting but C&G is very well reviewed here on Angie?s List and I'm hoping that once we get past the initial bumps in the road things will turn out okay.
I can?t say this strongly enough: I don't want to give the impression that my apartment was left filthy or that they did a horrible job. It wasn?t and they didn?t. Overall they did a fairly good job both times. The thing that gets me is that the things that were lacking were such basic things in terms of cleaning. That's what has me scratching my head, especially since my crew was supposedly one of their most often requested.
I'm going to keep the faith and give C&G one more chance to make things right. Hey, we all drop the ball at one time or another; it's
how it's handled afterwards that's the true measure of service. So far C&G has been making the effort to keep me as a customer and I respect the fact that they didn't tell me and my dinky 2BR apartment to go pound sand! I don't know if Angie's List will allow me to follow up or amend my review. If so then I'll try to do so.
UPDATE (1-7-13)...
I guess what they say about the third time being the charm is true. Came home today to a very clean apartment, certainly worth the $75 monthly fee. Kudos to the owners and the new crew, my thanks to all of you and I look forward to doing business together!
UPDATE (11-27-13)...
After many months of acceptable service I came home a couple of weeks ago to find what appeared to have been a rushed, hurried job. The bathtub looked as if it had been quickly wiped and left with enough soap scum to come off when wiped with a finger and the bathroom sink still contained traces of my morning shave. And, as had been the case before, the bedroom dusting was spotty at best.
I emailed C&G to inform them of my findings--not to ask for a discount, a refund, a do-over or a different crew--only to inform them of my displeasure about having come home after a long day to a poorly cleaned bathroom and bedroom so that they could take measures to ensure that it didn't happen again. Call me crazy but I don't think one should have to scrub their bathtub before taking a shower only hours after it was supposed to have been professionally cleaned.
True to form I quickly received a reply: in this case an apology, an (unsolicited) offer of a refund, an expression of frustration with what was described as one of their "top crews" and was informed that they were electing to part ways! So rather than choosing to manage and correct the situation I was instead dropped as a customer, no doubt dismissed as a crank who was no longer worth their time, effort or attention. I guess it was beyond rational thought that even one of their top crews might occasionally rush a job. Perhaps if I'd sent them pictures to back up my claim--as I'd done when they first started cleaning for me--they might have reacted differently but after a year of service I didn't think it was necessary. I thought wrong.
I thanked them for their refund offer and politely told them to keep it. I wasn't angling for any sort of free service since the rest of the apartment appeared to have been adequately cleaned, certainly enough to warrant at least some of their fee and since I wasn't interested in nickle-and-diming them for any sort of partial refund I didn't ask for one. I felt this was reasonable and fair and expressed my disappointment at their having given up rather than managing the situation.
I don't regret having given C&G multiple chances to earn my business since no one--and no company--is perfect. I only regret that after a year of loyal patronage, several positive online reviews and having suggested their service to several people I now find myself searching again for a cleaning service while trying to prepare for the holidays, all for having had the audacity to complain about inconsistent service. I wish C&G the best but sadly can no longer recommend them.
"Member, we are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the service and very dissapointed that you feel our responsiveness and professionalism is a C rating. We feel we have returned all of your calls and addressed any issues in a timely and professional manner. We have discounted your service several times throughout the 6 months you have been a client. Unfortunately, we were not able to accommodate your last request and adjust your payment when you cleaned the bathroom the day before team was scheduled to be there. We are also not able to discount the service because you requested the team to use a particular product of yours, as our prices are already very competitive. We are a little confused as to you why you feel the team does not clean your whole house. Shortly after the first visit, the master bedroom was removed and your service was discounted per your request. Additionally, our service was discounted per your request when you were on vacation and the team could not finish to job because they felt threatened by your dogs. Our teams are very pet friendly and your house was scheduled that day for a full time slot on our schedule. We strive to give all of our clients a detailed and professional cleaning service on a personal basis. We apologize that we were not able to do that for you and you are not satisfied with the service. We will remove your home from our schedule. Thank you."
