Serviced heater on an emergency basis. Provided good communication on when they could arrive. Had parts and completed repair on site. Charges for both the heater parts(switches) and the hourly rate of $165.00 plus a $50.00 emergency travel charge were out of line after I researched the job. We had no choice due to the circumstances. Requested a review of the charges in writing and never received any response.
"I am sorry that you were not satisfied with the cost of the repair. We make sure we are always upfront with the costs to the customers when it comes to emergency, after hours fees and rates. The cost of doing business, when providing 24hr response, as well as insurance costs involved in providing that service despite weather, or time of service, forces us to charge a time and a half rate for after hours. The after-hours charge of $50 is so that we can compensate my service tech for his driving time that takes him away from his family during the weekends. I'm sorry you were not satisfied with these costs. We make every effort to be upfront with customers before my service tech even leaves his home after hours. We also let our customers know the rates for normal business hours, in case they choose to wait for the office to open. Many customers prefer to wait until regular business hours."
