Was not able to get an appointment in a timely manner. My dog was very sick, they made me wait several days for appt. Long story short: Ended up taking my dog to emergency veterinary hospital where he needed emergency surgery.

I had taken my 14 year old cat to a local vet who said that the bump on his lip would require surgery to the tune of about $700. This local vet didn't even *find* the lump my cat had above his elbow (about the size of a nickel or a quarter).

I decided to get a second opinion- $700 is an awful lot of money- and found Dr. Kentner's office in Wayne. I took my cat there this past weekend.

I don't think I can recommend Dr. Kentner highly enough. He immediately took care of the bump on the lip- it was a non-threatening liquid filled cyst near the surface of the skin and he lanced it right there. No surgery necessary. He then looked at the lump on my cat's front leg and physically manipulated it till he was able to remove what was hardened exudate from a sebaceous gland. Again, no need for anaesthesia or any sort of surgery. He also clipped my cat's nails and cleaned out his ears. All of this took less than half an hour, and an amazingly low fee of only $93.

Dr. Kentner is an old-school vet with a *very* pragmatic and reasonable approach to pet care as well as being very knowledgable.Other things to know- his office has a lot of cats present. Dogs must be on a leash and cats brought in in carriers. That's probably commonsense, but I thought I'd mention it.

I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY DOG TO THIS VET FOR ELEVEN YEARS. THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE AND EXPERIENCED. THEIR SCHEDULE IS USUALLY PRETTY OPEN, SO IT'S UP TO US WHEN THE APPOINTMENT IS. SOMETIMES WE SPEND AWHILE IN THE WAITING ROOM AND SOMETIMES WE DON'T.
