Pavco Paving

I forgot that I hadn't written a review but saw a reminder recently when I went on Angie's List so this is very late. I still have all the details because I ended up calling Angie's List to complain & kept a copy of all the details. I had my driveway replaced in 2015 & hired Pavco Paving to seal the driveway for the first time in 2016 based on a special they were offering. I signed up at on June 28, for one coat & Robert Gilk of Pavco Paving came to look at the driveway on July 9. Before he arrived I went outside & measured. When he came he did his own measuring before he rang my door bell to tell me he had arrived. I don't think he knew I had done my own measuring because the estimate he gave me was about 100' higher than my own. He agreed to seal it based on my estimate but told me I should really get two coats instead of one & if I didn't it would be needing another coat in a year. I told him I wasn't interested in two coats and he said he would come back within two weeks. The week of July 18 I called & left a message to find out when he was coming but did not get a call back. The week of July 25 I called & left a message that I was going on vacation. He called on August 4 & left a message. I called him again on August 16 but did not get a call back. On August 26 I called Angie's List to see if they could get him to respond or if I could get my money back and be released from the special as I had paid $139.00 upfront. I called him again on September 6 & left a message that I had filed a complaint with Angie's List due to his lack of response. I think this finally got his attention because he called & said he would come on September 11. When he came he apologized for the delay & said the demand for the special had been much greater than they envisioned & the person who runs the office had been sick. So while the price was very good and the quality of the work was fine getting him to come & do the work was a real hassle. I also didn't like the fact that the figure he gave me for measuring the driveway was inflated & that he was trying to sell me two coats when it only needed one.

He charged another $250. He did what he was supposed to. They should be more clear on the definition of why the extra money was required.

Horrible. Company dodges their responsibility. And, Angie's List won't step up to do the right thing.

Pavco did a very good job, although they did get a little overspray on my grass and masonry. I would recommend taping off the sides around your driveway before they come. The owner seems very professional and knowledgeable about his business. The price was good. It was quite difficult to get in touch with them (I think I called 4 times), but I'm glad I persisted, as they did a good job . Also, the owner was very apologetic about the delay and gave us an additional discount for our trouble.

Things went well! The owner of the company showed up on time and was very neat. He explained that I really need a new driveway and provided me with an estimate for when I'm ready to move forward with that project. For now, I'm more than satisfied with the refreshed look of my tired and worn driveway. Hence, I'm pleased with the seal coat job performed by Pavco Paving, look and price!

Still no sealing date after mulitple calls, emails & appraiser sent. Trying to be patient...

They never showed up. Twice they said they were coming.

Not well! This was a promo on Angie's List and after purchasing it, I heard nothing for two weeks. When I called the vendor I only got voicemail. Left several messages. Nothing. Called Angies List and they got in touch with him. He came out, tried to sell me on all kinds of extra stuff which I wasn't interested in. He said he would be back to do the work the following weekend and never showed up. Called Angies List for refund.

It was not bad but it wasn’t what I expected. Somebody else did it five years ago and they did a better job.

Robert the owner of PAVCO did a fantastic job in assessing our driveway giving us his professional opinion of what our driveway needed. He was upfront with the timelines involved and clearly explained what factors might delay or speed up the process. He felt he was very professional. The end result was a beautifully replaced driveway.

Placed an order for the online deal - no one contacted me regarding it for 3 days. Send 2 emails, was advised with the 2nd request someone will contact me they never did. I telephoned their offices and received little information other than someone would get back to me! I advised I wanted to cancel the deal and they told me I must contact Angies List to get my money back. Their office seemed to care less about the issue. Professionalism and quality of service BEFORE they ever say the job makes this contract very suspect. Now I must go through the entire process of attempting a refund from Angies List for an unresponsive contractor. Angies List advised me to try and "work it out" with the contractor. Be cautious about purchasing any prepaid deals with potential contractors.

I was completely impressed by the work that Robert and his company Paveco Paving did for my driveway . He worked within the constraints of my budget, he showed up promptly for the estimate – he stuck to the estimated price at the completion of the job. He commenced to work on the job immediately, and the results met my expectations. I look forward to working with him again and I would highly recommend him to other homeowners for any paving work that might need to be done.

Robert Gilk paved our driveway in October, 2014. Within a month the whole thing started to crumble and turn into gravel. We called Paveco repeatedly; they hardly ever answered their phone, but when they did they promised to come and fix the driveway. They never did. We went to court in September 2015 to sue them for our money back, since we have to re-pave the driveway. The judge ruled that Paveco owes us the full amount of $5,000.00. We are still trying to collect from them (case number BER DC-010261-15). (Paveco is listed as owned by Ginger Gilk.) Don't hire these people. The company spells its name as ?Pavco,? ?Paveco," and even ?Pave Co.,? and has recently had at least three different addresses.

It was done. It went up in price about $300 more. The problem was the quality of the work; I was not very happy. They had good responsiveness.

The service was alright. It turned out to be more than the $139 Big Deal which I do understand. It was a couple of hundred dollars more because there were some cracks in the driveway that was bigger than what was original. I figured that was the come-out, but it had to be done. The price was reasonable compared to others I have gotten so we just went ahead and let him do it. It was not major job, but it was done okay. He said the cracks were probably going to open again, but I did not realize they would open this quickly. Overall, I was satisfied. The price was average. He came right down. I would most probably not use him again.

He sprayed sealcoat on the driveway. He took care not to spray the garage door and the job was neatly done. He explained why sprayed sealer is preferable to brushed-on sealer (hot-coating) and that brushing in the Home Depot-type sealer causes even more cracking. Whether this is true, I don't know. But the job was tidy, the price was good, and the driveway is sealed.

I bought this deal on Angie's List to have our driveway sealcoated. After paying on 4/18/15, the company sent an email asking us to give them a call which we did. Ginger at Pavco said someone would call back. We waited one week and called them again, leaving a message. Ron from Pavco called back promptly and even showed up at our house to measure the driveway, indicating we should call him back the following week to see when he could come back to do the job. We did call him the following week. About a week later, he called on a Sunday saying he would be by either that Monday or Tuesday to do the job. It's now about a month after that and we have yet to talk to someone at Pavco or see someone from Pavco to do the job. Sure, this wasn't a huge job, but the company was the one who advertised the deal and even advertised the same deal yet again after not following through with us. Supposedly, Angie's List has been in contact with the company to see how to resolve this. Angie's List has indicated that we cannot be refunded since it's past the 30 days for money-back guarantee. Needless to say, we are less than pleased.

The Pavco team did an outstanding job removing the existing pavement on the driveway and the walkway on the side of the house. Pavco tested the ground underneath the existing pavement to make sure the properties would adequately support the new layer of pavement. The brick hidden below the old pavement can now be seen which was original to the house. The new layer of pavement really looks neat and well layout. Pavco took care of requesting the permit with the town and even gave us the tip to contact the local to ask for permission to park the cars on the street overnight for three days after the installation, so that the fresh pavement does not registered tire marks. The gentleman that came to our property on a weekend (by request) to guie us the estimate was very attentive and listened to our ideas, questions and concerns. Pavco came to our house on a week day and started and finished the job the same day. Pavco cleaned and took away all the debris and other materials removed from the old pavement. We would hire Pavco again and also recommend Pavco to our friends and family.

They did a very good job. He is punctual. I would use them in the future.

Provider arrived on time and waited until a few rain clouds were out of the way to start the work. The job accomplished what I wanted.

I purchased the special on 5/22. I received a msg thru Angie's list right after that someone would contact me that night or the next day. Knowing it was Memorial Day weekend, I cut them some slack. I had indicated 3 dates for the job to be done and on the first day, 5/29 I still had not heard from anyone. I sent a msg thru Angie's list and was told someone would call me in a few. It's now the next day and still nothing. So unprofessional. I cannot understand how companies stay in business operating in this manner. Doesn't Angie's list have a screening process to stop contractors who operate this way? How do I get my money back? If I was looking blind, I can accept this but I pay for membership and to me it seems to be nothing more than an advertising firm now. I am very disappointed in this process.

Agreed to do work and did not respond or come back.

The whole process went great from start to finish. We initially were intending to buy a deal to have the driveway (which was in moderately bad shape) re-sealed. But because the driveway was not in great shape I spoke with Ginger and Robert first to get an idea of whether sealing would even make sense. Robert offered to come out and look at the drive to help me make an assessment before paying for the deal in case sealing would not be possible. He came out on a Saturday, as agreed, and he was on time. After looking at the driveway he indicated sealing with two coats would be possible and that it would make more sense given the condition of the driveway. We also discussed, at my request, other options and costs. Robert made us a great offer to resurface the whole driveway and a separate offer to replace all of the concrete at the entrance to the driveway and a few of the sidewalk slabs, which was in very bad shape. After some discussion, he then also made us an offer to do both the driveway and the cement together, which is what we went with. All throughout, Robert made himself available by telephone or text and he was responsive, professional, knowledgeable and always on time. Plus he was friendly and very personable. Robert's guys did a great job and the driveway now looks great! All in all a very good experience. I will definitely keep them in mind for any future work and I would have no hesitation recommending Paveco to others.

After purchasing this deal, a rep of the company came over. What was advertised was not what was being sold - was told that they didn't write the ad, Angie's list did.... because we wanted 2 coats and a fix to one small patch, the price changed from $139 to over $500..... waiting for a credit back

Robert was professional, on time, and did a simply beautiful job making my long, large, damaged old driveway look the best it has looked probably in the last ten years. Robert really knows his profession inside and out and he put me at ease with his pleasant and informative demeanor. I can't recommend Pavco Paving highly enough and will definitely use Robert's services again.
