The project went very well. Jon provided his expertise with suggestions and recommendations. I was happy with the choices that I was given and more happy with the results of my choices. Jon is a real pro! The floors look great.

So happy with the way the floors came out. There was a good amount of patching that I needed done and it blends seamlessly with the original hardwood.

My experience with JDLFLOORS was top notch from start to finish. Jon took the time to explain the process to me and was very responsive any time I tried to contact him. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have their floors done.

Have used JDL two times Both times I have been EXTREMELY pleased. They replaced the carpeting on my second floor with hardwood and a few years later I contracted them to re-finish my badly beaten-up hardwood floors on the first floor.

Technician who removed carpet and substandard flooring in 30-year-old addition and installed new red oak was not prepared to create a sound sub-floor for installation of new floor boards. The new boards were not level with the mid-century original house. Boards drop downhill.
Three coats of polyurethane were not applied in hall and kitchen, this was included in contract.
Evidence of bare spots in the wood on the kitchen floor, top of entry to basement, uneven boards by dishwasher and dirt sealed in under the radiators were shared with Jonathan.
As I had provided full payment when technicians had previously returned to add coat of polyurethane to threshold to family room, I was informed there was no guarantee.
As a "courtesy" the technicians returned to add a second coat of polyurethane to kitchen.
Technicians were incredulous that I would suggest they did not do their job.
All areas in kitchen were pointed out to technicians. Area leading to basement where no polyurethane was applied was shared with technicians, they still did not apply polyurethane. Pointed out area in entry to kitchen that had a swell of polyurethane.
Glob of polyurethane in center of floor of one bedroom had to be sanded down.
Closet in hallway had no polyurethane applied (should have been three coats).
Uneven floor from hall into bedroom caused tripping hazard. The laminate threshold that had been present prior to the beginning of this project was removed by floor technician and reinstalled using only glue. Had been informed by salesman that a new threshold would be installed.  Eventually the threshold became dislodged.
When technicians returned for second coat of polyurethane in kitchen, they acknowledged that they did not have a threshold with them and that the difference in the heights of the floor from the hall to the bedroom would make it difficult to add a threshold.
If you use this contractor:
1. Be certain contract lists exactly what is to be completed by technicians.
2. Have a copy of contract to review with technicians when they arrive.
3. Do no submit payment until you fully inspect work, including all closets and under radiators.
As you are not supposed to walk on newly finished floors for three days and the odor is intense, it is difficult to fully inspect the home.

I was very happy with the whole process. I had a narrow window to get the work finished before moving into a new home I purchased. They met and exceeded every expectation. I replaced the 2nd level of my home with hard wood. I would and plan to use them again.

Overall I'm extremely pleased with the floors -- got them for a very good price and they look great in my new condo. Over-estimated, therefore ended up with two extra boxes, which his crew proceeded to take with them yet left behind 8 full bags of garbage in my garage of wood scraps, used saw blades, cardboard boxes, wrapping, etc. They cracked the marble on my fireplace while installing the framing around it, forgot to re-hang the closet door back on, and some of the molding wasn't installed properly -- even if it didn't match the existing molding already there -- it look like an amateur did it. I would think with all the money that I paid to have it done professionally that they could have found a way to make it look better than that!!

As a realtor I realize that referrals are extremely vital to one's business and even though I absolutely love the floors, I'd be hard-pressed to recommend JDL Floors after this experience!

They did a great job on the wood floor. They are very knowlegable and helpful in helping customers find where to buy the right wood floor. They are a company I would highly recommend to others.
