*********AVOID AT ALL COST******** UPDATE: We discovered they broke the motherboard on the washing machine from another company. They denied the issue and just offered to give us the $100 back. They went into a tailspin on the phone and didn't offer any reconciliation. Our intention now is to take them to Small claims court as the mother board is $700 cost. I would NOT use this company. In fact they got us confused with another customer complaint while we were on the phone. This doesn't seem like an Isolated incident. The beginning----------- Similar to other experiences that people have with them, they came out to service the machine, they opened it up and broke the mother board and tripped the circuit breakers in the house - how do you do that? Collected $100 and told us to buy a new machine. I WOULD AVOID THIS SERVICE AT ALL COST they are a complete rip off. Guy barely spoke English as well.

Carlos, the technician showed up on time, very polite and highly skilled, he figured out right away the issue with my dryer, he ordered the replacement parts on the spot and came back two days later with the parts in hand and did the repair, awesome job, very happy and satisfied with the service, thank you very much!

I called Bill's to repair my refrigerator in the past, and now I needed my dryer fixed because it wasn't drying the towels and clothes on the settings I usually use. The service man was able to come at night which was good for me and at no extra charge which was good, too. I was very happy with the job he did and would recommend them to anyone who needs an appliance repaired. I live in Wayne.

Great! Tech was able to come the same day at no extra charge. Had to order a part and had it replaced the next day and everything is running fine!

Bill's Appliance Repair is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. DO NOT USE THEM. I chose them because of the Angie's List coupon to save on the service call if they did the work. Not only was I told that was not the case, I was charged $225 for a $7 part (as I found online.) The first clue to their ineptitude was they could not even give me a window of what time they would arrive. The tech was rude, told my wife she was making his job hard because she was asking questions, and never showed us the part he replaced. Had to make the check out to the owner, not the company (very shady) and has essentially refused to speak with us again. A letter will be sent to the NJ BBB. AGAIN, DO NOT USE BILL'S APPLIANCE REPAIR! (The D for quality is only because my dryer works now)
Response from Bill's Appliance Repair
"Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], We are sorry you feel this way about our service. We don't have a coupon on angies list. We do advertise a free service charge WITH a repair which was given to you in the final price after the repair. We also NEVER buy non factory authorized online generic parts as they are often defective. Our company ONLY buys factory authorized brand name parts from authorized dealers in the USA which unfortunately do cost more to buy but they are the correct part to use. As an appliance service company in business for 50 years, our labor prices are pro rated and competive with other service companies in our area."

The machine works much better. He seemed to know what was wrong, and went right to work. He wasn't here that long, so maybe it was a little pricier than I expected. But, overall I was happy with the results.

Same day service.  Offered a night appointment, and showed near the time they said they would.  Nice guy.  Explained the issue clearly and repaired it in first visit as he had the right part with him.  Would definitely use them again.

He came and told me if he put this particular part on my refrigerator it should be good go. He put on the part and the fridge worked fine. However, a month later it broke down again, and he gave me some excuses as to why this part didn't work. I wish he would have just been upfront from the start.
Response from Bill's Appliance Repair
"There was a different problem with the refrigerator."

I paid them $85 to look at the oven and see what the problem was and they told they would replace and an extra part would $730, but it was still cheaper than to buy a new oven and then they suggested they would sell me new oven, but it was kind of weird. Then, I got the part myself and invited them to replace and just for replacement, they charged me $250 and plus tax to $267. They guy who came was very nice. They did the job, but the price was very high.
Response from Bill's Appliance Repair
"We don't sell ovens. I don't know why on earth she would say that. Parts ARE expensive and thats a fact. This person gave us an "F" for a price that clearly was not our fault."

A young man came with no service charge as long as there was a repair needed. He was knowledgeable and pleasant, and seemed to do a good job. The woman on the phone was very informative and helpful as well.

After discovering that our refrigerator wasn't cooling properly, I searched on Angie's List for any A rated large appliance repair companies. I called two different company and decided on Bill's Appliance Repair Service Repair because of their prompt response and courteous explanation of the process.
The appointment was scheduled and the repair representative called prior to his arrival to ensure someone will be present at the house. The repair was completed and he explained the nuances of a refrigerator. I haven't had a problem since.
Since this was the first time I called in for a large appliance repair service, I was a bit thrown off on the price. It is why I graded a N/A for the price.

This was a GE refrigerator that suddenly stopped cooling. In the past I had used GE books to do my own repairs but I decided to see if I could locate a repair person this time.  I contacted this company based on Angies list because he claimed to be primarily GE repairer. That evening a serviceman came who primarily works in evenings and holidays. It took about 5 minutes to diagnose the problem as replacing the control panel. I had found online resources for genuine GE parts but was unclear what might be the actual problem part (whether it might be the compressor).
He gave a flat estimate not breaking it down by parts and labor at $420. He had the specific panel in his vehicle which apparently was a common problem. The part took about 10 minutes to install.
His claim to fame was that he also installed a small surge protector in the outlet (A good idea but certainly not a high cost).
When I contacted the owner to discuss the actual amount of the charge after I determined what the actual part should have cost (about $150) he was adamant (and rather nasty) about how wonderful his outfit was that he knew how to repair the unit, that he had the parts (which was good, but also important to him to be able to get the job completed on the spot), that training was expensive, and that he also put in the surge protector as a bonus.
The presence of a coupon for the service call that was advertised on Angies List was of no use.

They came out and took a look at the machine. They then decided a part needed to be ordered to fix it. They ordered then came out and replaced the part. I later found out the part was only $5 so I felt like the pricing was higher than it needed to be.
The company that showed up was very pleasant and they did show up on time.

We went on Angie's List to get a large appliance repair service to repair our tenants' washer which was leaking and we found that Bill's Appliance Repair Service offered a free service call coupon worth $76.50 if a repair was done but this turned out to be nothing but a scam.  Bill arrived arrived said the water supply line to our tenants' washing machine was clogged and he unclogged it with a resulting charge of $144.45 including tax.  There were no repair parts needed, this was a minor repair job and we feel this was an exorbitant charge, particularly when he claimed to have no service call charge for Angie's List customers.  We had had Berco Appliance Repair Company for a repair to the tenants' refrigerator just a few months ago and this was just $60.+ dollars, a far more reasonable charge (with no coupon), and we are sorry we did not use them for this repair.  We will certainly use them again in the future and we will not use Bill's Appliance Repair again!  We had trust in Angie's List and in the fact that they offered a coupon for a free service call to Angie's List users, but we feel we were truly scammed by this offer and paid more than we would have paid Bill's Appliance Service WITHOUT a coupon!

My Whirlpool dryer stopped drying my clothes.  I checked Angies List and called Bill's Appliance Repair at 8am.  Bill and his wife arrived at 10am and immediately found the problem.  They didn't just fix the problem.  They asked me for my vacuum and began cleaning under , around and behind the dryer!  I couldn't believe the amount of lint build up!  It's no wonder people have fires in their homes that start in their dryers!  People, you have to clean under and behind your dryers!  Who knew?  Also, Bill blew out my dryer vent which saved me another $95 and the imposition of another service call!  I highly recommend this service company!

They couldn't actually fix my refrigerator but were very helpful getting me a replacement in the home in record time. They are simply terrific.
