SOLID FOUNDATION HOME INSPECTIONS OF NJ, LLC

This is the third times we employed Mike's expertise.  He inspected for us back in 2008, lived there for 4 years, he NAILED everything that we came across.  During the negotiation, we got credit for some of the repairs and bank rest of it for rainy days.  And when they happened,  i.e. backyard runoff, needed new roof, those are the two major ones, we were more than ready.  6 years later, relocated back to the area, didn't hesitate to call him for a mini consultation about a house we were interested.  He pointed out a few key things which definitely helped us making the decision to move on.  He is extremely thorough going through every single thing in a full inspection.  My other 1/2, the agent and him spent a good 4 hours to go over a 2200 sq ft house in detail, along the way he explained how everything works and the risk of not repairing certain key items found.  He may not be the cheapest, but he is definitely one of the most detail orientated inspectors we come across over the past 20 something years.

Mike did a wonderful job.
He was through and explained everything he found while responding with clear and insightful commentary about any questions asked before, during, or after the inspection. He left absolutely nothing out and made sure we were fully comfortable with the inspection and any issues that were spotted by us or him.
The inspection itself took 2.5 hrs and was fully documented with pictures of every possible issue.
The report generated was clear, concise, detailed, and fully documented with explanations and pictures.
We were able to use that report to generate a list of issues to take to the home seller and request work be done before closing and/or cash at closing.
He also honored the coupon from Angles List with aplomb.
We would gladly recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspection and use him again if we were to sell this home.

Mike met us at the property at the agreed time and was ready to go. Spent about 3.5 hours looking into every nook and cranny. He was very thorough and explained every single detail of what he thought needed repair or attention. His written report was also extremely detailed and outlined things that absolutely needed to be fixed and things that could stay as they were but could use some attention in the near future. He quickly responded to our questions and requests, and I feel better knowing he had our best interest in mind when making recommendations. He was never pushy and was very honest with the issues he observed.

Very very thorough!!  Mike was recommended to me by a friend at work, and my experience was excellent as well.  The inspection took 3 hours for a 1500 sq ft house - so that gives an idea of the thoroughness and quality of the inspection.  I tagged along during the entire inspection (first time home-owner), and Mike explained what he was looking for, things for us to watch out for in future, aspects of the construction that were done really well  as well as the defects.  Really gave us confidence in our purchase (as well as negotiating leverage...).  Took lots of pictures and provided all of them (203) to us as well as the pictures for the final report.  Only negative would be that it took 4 business days to get the report, and originally Mike told us 3.....but that's probably due to the quality of the inspection and the thoroughness of the report.

The inspector (who is also the owner, I believe) arrived on time.  He was prepared and very professional.  He inspected all aspects of the home and explained to us any condition that he concluded to be defective or hazardous.  He was very thorough (inspection lasted 2.5 hours) and patient when we asked him questions about certain aspects of the house.  Inspection was on Thursday and by the following Tuesday we had a full premises report complete with pictures, as well as a summary report that listed any problems.  Overall, I was very pleased with the home inspection services provided by Solid Foundation Home Inspections of NJ.
