Siding Service, Deck and Porch Service
The deck railings in our townhome community are constructed like the outer walls of the main condo buildings themselves. They are framed out with studs secured to a base, with plywood sheathing on both sides, Tyvek housewrap over the sheathing, and a layer of waterproof covering (Vicore membrane) over the top of the wall to prevent the kind of water damage we suffered with the original railing (built about 1986). Both sides were covered with cedar clapboard siding to match the main structure, and a 2 by 8 top cap to finish it off.
The railing was over 25 feet in length.
Ed is not inexpensive, but is worth every penny. The demolition and reconstruction were completed in 2 days, with a skilled and efficient crew.
