The steps done by Firstech were:
1. probe for underground tank;
2. pump out and dispose of remaining oil;
3. uncover the tank;
4. cut off the top of the tank and clean out the residue in the tank;
5. excavate the tank;
6. take soil samples in 4 areas;
7. close up the hole with clean sterile soil.
They took care to protect my lawn, front concrete sidewalk, and shrubs.
They did not excavate the contaminated soil when the hole was open and store that soil until the test results were confirmed.
This resulted in significant added costs to reopen the dig and excavate the contaminated soil in a subsequent operation which ended up costing me an added $7400.
