Great. our house is old and not properly ducted for optimal efficiency but everything in the basement was replaced and most of the ductwork replaced.

Greg and Jeff are a dying breed. They came out to our home and actually came up with a total game plan on how to best correct previously done work, instal a unit that FIT our home and needs,AND explained exactly what needed to be done. All in terminology that a layperson can understand. They discussed between the two of them exactly what the needed to do, duct wise, because of the changes in unit size, and left our home with notes,sizes and measurements .We had our heater installed on time,ON BUGET, PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED, Beautiful ductwork,(ease of changing the filter is amazing) . The heater is running better then expected! Its quieter, the house is more comfortable, and even temperature! They came back later and repaired our AC ''A'' coil pan. Another contractor had installed this and they fixed it.Its a pleasure to deal with a company where you know the owners are involved in every aspect of what they do. After using them ,I know why they've been in business for generations.

I used Charles F. Ober and Sons because my stepsister recommended them to me and I was NOT disappointed! I got 4 quotes for having my heater and AC replaced in the fall (they both still worked but I was pushing it with how old the units were) and Ober and Sons was in the middle of the four. I loved that it was a family owned company and that the guy I talked to during the consultation was the guy coming in to help with the work - not some contractor. I also had an issue with a bush being in the way of the AC unit that the prior owner planted, and since Greg happens to be into landscaping he removed that for me as well and it hasn't grown back. Huge bonus! The cost for what I received, as well as the additional warranty purchased ... all well worth it. Would absolutely recommend this company to family and friends and I wouldn't go anywhere else for HVAC service.

We have used this family owned and operated outfit for 6 years for heating oil purchases and boiler maintenance and repair. During this year's annual maintenance visit a boiler leak was detected. They showed me exactly where it was leaking and how much. Their first option was to try and fix the problem with a stop-leak pumped into the boiler. After 2 days of testing it was deemed that the boiler needed to be replaced. The two brothers Jeff and Greg went through a variety of options with us to help us finally decide to convert to gas while at the same time keeping overall cost down. They never pushed any high end expensive models even though they would install whatever we wanted. They took into consideration the age of the house and our budget. They took care of the permit process. The tank removal and boiler installation process was completed in 2 days but they came back a third day just to reinspect the fittings and recheck everything. They worked quickly, efficiently, and cleanly. They were willing to answer any and all questions and are always ready to fully explain what they are doing. When placing a service call, the scheduler is polite and friendly and we've never had to wait more than 2 days for service. Emergency service has been same day within and hour or two of calling.
