Some tiles were not straight and missed some work behind the refrigerator. No one has noticed the uneven settings (except for me), so I guess it's OK.

This did not go well.  First we were just going to do it on our own but the nice guy in the Lowe's store bath department suggested we talk to the store designer.  He was there and nice too, so we decided to have him come out and look at what we wanted done and give us some suggestions and a quote.  The charge to do this is $75.00, which gets applied if you get work done.  Well just the contractor showed up and we came to find out the designer had quit in the few days between when we spoke to him and the visit to our house.  I called and complained because the contractor was not giving us any suggestions and wanted to re-do things we just wanted painted or left alone (like leaving the two bathtubs that still look fine).  So then the boss of the former designer came out with another store employee (I guess for moral support) and she was nice and had some suggestions.  So then we went to the store to go over the suggestions they were going to draw up and get the quote and there was yet another person there to meet with.  We had intentionally made an appointment to come on a weekday (and miss work) to see the girl that came to our house and she was "busy".  The girl we saw was a designer from another store and also nice, but she kept saying she hadn't seen our house so could only give general suggestions.  There was no written suggestions or layout of our house that we were given, as we thought we would get.  The contractor's quote was $25,000 (and that included labor only), which seemed ridiculously high.  We have gotten over half of the work done (hiring others to do the work) and have spent about $4,000 so far.  I would never go with Lowe's designer offer again though, as I felt the $75 we paid was a total waste of our money and time.  I complained at the store's customer service department and just got a shrug.
