Homestead Plumbing & Heating

I first called and spoke with Jeff who made an appointment for me and told me someone would be out the next day at 8AM. When I asked for an estimate as their website states they give he told me the job would not be that much at all. He said the pipes ran about $25 each and the job should take about an hour or less so it wouldn't be much at all but he said when the plumber arrived tomorrow he would give us the price before he even started any work. The next morning they arrived an hour late and immediately began working. They never gave my husband any quote as we were told. When the job was completed we were handed a bill for $544.85 which simply stated that they replaced the risers for hot & cold water pipes on hot water heater, replaced relief valve & drop pipe & replaced cartridge (owner supplied) on water filter. There was no breakdown on how much we were billed per hour/how much labor was/how much parts were...nothing. How did something go from $50 worth of pipes and only an hour job & supposedly not costing very much to a $544.85 bill? When we called back to speak with Jeff he said he would look into it and call us back. Never heard from him. My husband called again the next day and still got no response....Our check was cashed right away though!! This company is a rip off. They do not give quotes like they say on their website. They perform jobs and then charge you these ridiculous amounts of money with no breakdown of what you are even paying for. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone unless you want to get ripped off.
