All went well. Water had been leaking into my inner wall and into the house for years. Outside stone looks great and all the damaged wall was removed and replaced.
Only negative was that the worker broke my water pipe going out to the outside faucet. My wife and I had to clear the basement and clean up the water (a lot). I repaired the pipe and installed a new faucet. Never got back the cost of the parts I bought. That was my only complaint.
After having multiple contractors come to my home to diagnose some leakage issues, I was finally told I had a stucco issue, and it wasn't simple a matter of normal cracks that occur with time. My builder was out of business, (so I thought because all of the contact numbers I had for them were disconnected). I had no idea who installed my stucco originally. I did a google search and contacted Mr.Guzzo to come take a look. He asked where I lived, who my builder was, and when the house was built. He then told me he would stop by my home that afternoon. He didn't show. I called him back and he again said he would come by the house and never showed. At this point, I gave up. Problem is there are not many stucco contractors in South Jersey. As a result, my fiancee called him a couple weeks later I believe and relayed our problem (he didn't tell him we had previously called) and Mr. Guzzo asked my fiancee the same questions he asked me, scheduled a time to come by the house and then never showed.
At this point we contacted 2 more contractors, neither of whom could remedy the problem/ They recommended tearing off the entire front of the home and replacing all of the stucco, to the tune of at least $60,000. They both stated that the problems I were having were due to poor workmanship, ie the stucco wasn't installed properly to begin with. It was one of these contractors that informed me that Mr. Guzzo was the person that installed the stucco originally. At that point, I contacted an attorney and have begun proceeding to sue Mr. Guzzo.
I never would have taken this route had Mr. Guzzo worked with us from the beginning, instead of dodging us. I still hold hope that he will do the honorable thing and work with me to fix the stucco without having to take him to court. I am however prepared to litigate this matter fully.
