"This former customer's review was written in under 2 weeks from starting the work, a bit quick on trigger. Some of his points are true. Unfortunately with some jobs there are minor delays. There was miscommunication with the specialty undercabinet lighting and outlets which was our responsibility. During the 3rd week of the project, I, the owner of NJ Kitchens and Baths met with the customer to review the issues and Gerry was removed from managing the project. We covered the remaining details and I not only assured the customer their project would be done in a timely fashion and they would have my complete attention but I also offered to return their deposit if they really were that unhappy. They agreed to continue on and so we did. We had email communication every 1-2 days (evident in our email thread) covering the remaining inspections, insulation, tile selections, drywall, etc. During my management there was never a time they were in the dark or any delays. However they were still unhappy and at times contentious and micromanaging. I truly believe the homeowner wanted to complete the project himself (he performed the demolition and was going to do the trim work and paint) after the rough inspections and drywall were completed. I've been in this business long enough to know that both parties have to be happy with each other and that there are a few customers you will never make happy. That being said I decided it was best for us not to continue working together. I wish it worked out."

Once the work started it went fast. Despite hitting a few unexpected bumps in the project, the job was finished within a week or so of the target date. As with most big jobs, some issued arise afterward, and they have very responsive to quickly and efficiently address them. We are extremely pleased with our renovated first floor.
Lastly, they were a pleasure to work with and genuinely seemed concerned that we were satisfied every step of the way. Will definitely use them again for our next project.

"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths now that this project has been completed. We were happy to have finished the bathroom before Thanksgiving, as requested. It was our pleasure to work with you and we look forward to working on your master bath in the spring!"
"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens & Baths. We are happy to hear that you are pleased with not only your project results, but the process involved. In our business, hiccups are bound to happen. But we believe it is how we handle them that matters. We were happy to get the shower door replaced, albeit after chasing the supplier for a year like you mentioned. All part of the job. Enjoy your new space!"
What sets Andrew and his team apart from my perspective is their cleanliness and attention to detail. Tarps were laid every morning from the front door all the way to the bathroom and floors were vacuumed every night. Permits and inspections were all seamlessly handled by Andrew. Issues that arose and required additional work were clearly explained and shown to me in person. At the end of the project absolutely every corner and crevice in the bathroom was perfect, no detail was missed. Could not have been a better experience and will certainly use them again for our next project.

"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths. It was our pleasure to transform the three bathroom spaces in to sanctuaries in your home. Enjoy!"
Andrew we saw maybe a handful of times throughout the job, which I guess is normal for a GC? He was friendly and we had no issues working with him, but we felt his involvement was limited because he had a lot of other jobs going at the same time and was spread too thin. We were on a very tight timeline due to the impending birth of a child, and the project did not hit the originally agreed-upon date due to various delays, not all of which were under Andrew's control. I believe Al did what he could in good faith to complete the project on time.
Andrew's price and general business processes were fair and transparent throughout, as all change orders were documented and there were no misunderstandings about price or scope. As this was our first major renovation, we're glad to have used a GC like Andrew to bring all of the correct trades together and handle the permitting, as well as getting decent discounts with the materials providers (though we found much better prices shopping online than at Ferguson, albeit with more legwork required on our part).
"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths. We were happy to be a part of your first remodeling experience and we hope you enjoy your new spaces!"

We put the project on hold for about six months, and finally met with Andrew this summer to review the work done to date. He was quick to offer his assessment of what needed to happen from here, providing a timely and thorough estimate. We had to wait a couple of weeks to be worked into his schedule, but since we had been living without the master bath for that long already, it wasn't a big deal at all.
When work finally began, Andrew and his team were very thorough in explaining every step of the process, answering our questions and working very closely with us to ensure we got exactly what we were looking for. The team was always punctual, responsive and extremely professional.
The end result is a bathroom that we absolutely love at a price that we think was more than fair. We look forward to working with Andrew and his team on future projects. Wholeheartedly recommend.
"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths. I twas our pleasure to get your bathroom remodel back on track and finish it the way you wanted it. We hope you enjoy it!"
They were open to our ideas and presented different ways of accomplishing them. Andrew always returned our phone calls and emails. His crew was great, they were always on time, they were neat and always respectful of the surrounding areas in our home. The entire project went smoothly, on time, on budget and the work was impeccable. They even painted and that was a first for us.
The tile work in the bathroom was done beautifully, we also had them put a new tile floor in our foyer which we were also very happy with. I had a stackable washer/dryer installed in a closet in the bathroom which I love. Every time I go in our new bathroom, it makes me happy, it looks beautiful. We highly recommend NJ Kitchens and Baths, you will not be disappointed.
"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths. It was our pleasure to have you meet with our designer to accomplish the exact look you wanted for your bathroom and foyer. Enjoy your new space!"

The interview process with Andrew was by far the best of the six we met with ? he spent the most time with us and gave us the most ideas for how to remodel the bathrooms. We felt a sense of comfort and trust with Andrew when we first met him. He is very confident, but easy going. Needless to say, we went with Andrew and his team.
We signed on with Andrew after a brief contract negotiation. Andrew provided us with a plan and timeline for the construction. He was very clear upfront with the permit process and how he would run the job. He provided us with a recommend list of suppliers for tile, stone and fixtures, but didn?t push any of his people on us.
We began demolition soon after the permits were approved. At the same time, we were remodeling other areas of the home and were not living there yet. We had other contractors in and out of the house and Andrew and his team worked around all of them without any problems.
The project was completed on time and we were very happy with all of the work. Andrew followed up after we moved in and ensured that any minor items were fixed to our satisfaction. There was never a question of whether something was right or wrong ? the customer was always right.
In the early spring of 2014, we began thinking about a major renovation to the only remaining original bathroom in the house. We followed a very similar process as we did in 2012; we interviewed 6 contractors, 5 new ones and Andrew and his team.
This project was much larger in scope as it required a reconfiguration of the entire bathroom ? the toilet was moved 15 feet, the shower was moved 10 feet, vanities were moved 7 feet, windows were moved, walls were removed, walls were added, etc. But we only had basic ideas for how to utilize the existing awkward space, so we left it up to the 6 bidding contractors to submit ideas and then we would refine them.
Andrew and his team showed up with an architect and by far blew all the 5 other plans out of the water. Andrew was serious ? he knew that this not a simple replacing fixtures remodel. We quickly knew that Andrew and his team was the right crew for the job.
Once we signed on, Andrew ensured that the same crew that worked on our home in 2012 would work on our home in 2014. This gave us a great level of comfort ? we knew the team, we knew their work and we felt that we could trust them. This time we were living in the home and trust was important.
The process began in a very similar way as it did in 2012. Andrew quickly applied for permits and provided us with an accurate timeline for the construction. Before demo began, Andrew?s team sealed off the entire work area ? they did an excellent job. Demo began and within a day, the entire space was down to the studs. All of the debris was placed into a dumpster and at the end of each the team cleaned up and vacuumed the work space and areas of the home that were outside of the work space.
During the construction, Andrew was on site many days and we would consult on various design ideas and changes. He took every one of our comments and incorporated whatever changes we felt we wanted. Additionally, Andrew made recommendations for improving various aspects of the project as we progressed.
Andrew is very responsive to emails and phone calls, and getting a hold of him was never a problem. We always knew who would be there and when we should expect them. There were never days that we were left in the dark about what was happening. His billing and payment schedules were fair and well communicated up front. We never felt like we were being taken advantage of.
Finally, the most important aspect: the quality of his work is outstanding. His team did an excellent job. We would not change a thing and we are a demanding client. Andrew finished the project on time and on budget (except for the add-ons that we requested). There were never any surprises that cost us more money.
Without reservation, I would highly recommend using Andrew and NJKB for your next bathroom or kitchen remodel. You will not be disappointed, I promise.
"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths. We are glad that we were able to deliver service that was to your satisfaction. We hope to work with you in the future!"
Andrew and his crew did fantastic work. Were there everyday and never skimped on quality.
I recommended them to my neighbor who wanted their basement redone and they were also thrilled.
This one is a no brainer, hire them

The kitchen project took about 7 weeks to complete (original timeline called for 6 weeks). It started about a week after originally scheduled due to extreme winter weather which was understandable. Overall, we spent about $60,000, which was about $10,000 more than anticipated due to severe termite damage in the framing, all of which had to be ripped out and replaced (this also accounts for the extra week). This was unforeseen as it was all hidden behind the walls and unfortunately the downside of living in an 80+yr old home.
The preferred vendors we worked with included MBA Cabinetry, Standard Tile, and Marvic.
Our project manager, Carlos, and one of his workers, Javier, worked hard and spent a couple of Saturdays working at the house to keep things moving along so that the subcontractors and inspections could go as planned without having to be rescheduled. They were good about cleaning up their work areas at the end of the day. Carlos and Andrew had good communication between the two of them though on some things it seemed it could be better, not sure if this was due to difference of opinion. For example, the timing of when the appliances would be hooked up was scheduled before certain other things on Andrew?s timeline, but Carlos had them hooked up after, which he felt was better for avoiding damage based on his past experiences. Regular communication between Andrew, John and my husband and me was maintained throughout the course of the project. Andrew used a shared Google calendar which mapped out all of the stages of the project and which days they were scheduled to occur. This made it easy to plan when one of us needed to be at the house, or if we needed to keep our dog out of the house due to noise, dust, etc.
Overall, considering the scope of the work, our remodel experience was about as pleasant as it could be. We had heard many horror stories about kitchen remodels so we were apprehensive going into it, but luckily we don?t really have any horror stories other than finding the termite damage, which obviously was not the fault of the contractor. We enjoyed working with Andrew, Carlos and the rest of their team. They were good about keeping the project moving along as we were expecting a baby in early May and wanted everything completed before he was born. We have recommended them to our friends & colleagues who are looking to do similar work.
"Thank you for taking the time to review NJ Kitchens and Baths. It was our pleasure to take on your full kitchen remodel. Working weekends was just a part of the job as we wanted to keep things as on schedule as possible. We hope your growing family enjoys the new kitchen!"
