John Lockhart is by far the worst contractor I have ever worked with. Unprofessional and rude describe his personality but his worst attributes are that he is not detail oriented, he does not finish the projects that he started and the work he does complete is faulty and mediocre at best. I hired John to work on two different projects in my home. One contract was signed in December and the other in January. These entailed some simple projects such as: replacing doors, reattaching gutters, painting, etc.. The January contract entailed a new fireplace. And, where do I start? The new door that was installed was installed incorrectly and is already wan. rped and falling apart. The fireplace job was a disaster. We partnered with a fireplace store in Oakhurst but John was supposed to reframe the fireplace before the installation. I had to call him multiple times begging him to come to the house so that we could get the reframing done in time for the install. To this day (May 22nd), the siding for the chimney is not installed and the old fireplace is sitting in my beautiful landscaping in the backyard. I had to hire a tile company to come install the tile John was supposed to put up; I had to find and order the siding myself although I already paid John for the materials; I had to hire an electrician to do the wiring by the fireplace because John?s electrician failed to show up. And, now, I have to hire another contractor to install the siding, remove the old fireplace and redo the work that he started. He never finished one contract in full. I have pictures of the mess he left. After John took my money, he refused to return calls and when I did actually get a hold of him (one time), he yelled at me to be patient and to not get ?ugly?. I was appalled. This person was MIA for weeks at a time but he would stop into my home to do a half hour of work and then it would be two to three weeks before I would hear from him again. And, I will have to admit, he had to redo a lot of the work he actually did do because it would break, crack or not work properly. It still does not work properly. I guess he finally just got tired of making excuses. If you want cigarette butts all over your home and an irresponsible person that ?overpromises? and ?underdelivers?, then John Lockhart is your man.
Description of Work: The provider started several projects including: removal and installation of front and back doors, repairing some water damage, painting, removing existing fireplace chase, designing and building a custom mantle. None of the projects were actually completed. They are all in different phases of completion. And, the provider is no longer returning my calls.
