I was contacted by Tara today 1/25/14 regarding setting up an appointment and was informed that a new kitchen would cost a minimum $25,000 (first bad sign) but nobody has even seen my kitchen yet. I explain to her I have a one bedroom condo with a small galley kitchen there is no possible way it would even come close. She then states to met hat she has never seen one done under $25,000 (second bad sign). Not one of my neighbors paid near this amount for a new kitchen. It is obvious to me after $25,000 was mentioned twice without ever coming into my home is that you are seen as a dollar sign to this company and not as a potential customer. When you are viewed as a dollar sign it usually represents a company with poor customer service. My kitchen will be renovated but it's obvious they don't want my business.
Description of Work: Estimate for kitchen without coming out to my home yet I was told the minimum price it would cost for a new kitchen.

First of all, the contractor did NOT provide an end date on the contract. That in and of itself is a violation of the consumer fraud act, they knew it and they knew I DIDN'T know it; so they wound up dragging their feet. The payment schedule was worded as "payment of x amount of dollars BEFORE work is completed. So I would pay, and they wouldn't start till like a week later. The job on the deck was good, another company did the cabinets in the kitchen, so Total did the floor, the island, electric, plumbing, painting and trim. The finishing work was sloppy, and the talented workers were on other jobs. These people would go from one job to the next, sometimes not even showing up at all for work at my house. To this day there is still work in the bathroom that need's to be done. In order to get these bottomfeeders back to my house, my lawyer wrote a letter to the company and threatened to sue. I also filed a complaint with the division of consumer affairs. In summary, there are a few individuals I don't blame for this job...top management is to blame. There workers were being pulled in different directions. The supervisor (Dean) did good work, but couldn't be at my house every day. The foreman was not at my house enough supervising the guys working. Hope to get this resolved soon...get some other company.
Description of Work: Renovate bathroom, bedroom and kitchen; replaced wood deck with composite deck. .

We initially signed our contract on 8/30/2013 and from the beginning of this project we were told that this would be no big deal it would take "2 weeks." Things started out well until we got home the first day, our house was trashed, they did the demolition without putting up a zipper wall or tarp over the doorway leading from our den into our kitchen, it took us demanding them to get someone to come clean our house at 7 pm, which took 3 hours to clean. After that incident, things coasted along for awhile until work slowed down yet again during the dry wall process, the project lead stopped showing up and would send his guy over sporadically to work, which was done sloppy (more on that in just a bit). Things got bad when our project lead said that he was going to come by on a Saturday to work, it took me calling and texting him for him to tell me that "his truck got broken into." Thats fine, I can understand that but the very next day when he said that he was going to show up and it took me texting and calling AGAIN all day only for him to get back to me around 5 or 6 pm saying that he was in the hospital. That was the last we saw of that project lead. The company assigned another project lead to us and when he brought in his drywallers, they were curious if we did any of the work ourselves because of how it was done. From then on it went better, there were bumps along the way including 1/2 " holes above our outlets when they said that the electrical was finished and a hole that we happened to find in the kitchen that was put there during the demolition process. All issues were remedied before they finished but when they said 2 weeks we literally handed over the check to them today on 12/4/13. I would not recommend to use this company for any project, considering they said that this is one of the smaller job that they would handle.
Description of Work: We hired them to remodel our den that was original to the house circa 1950
