When I bought a house in the Journal Square area of Jersey City a few years ago, I hadn't needed to hire an electrician before. The first one I hired was so expensive, and yet, my dad and I had to keep pointing out things that they missed, or didn't get right. So, I called a few different companies to find a new electrician... and that's when I found D'Anna Electric. I don't remember the first person's name who came out to work with us (maybe the owner?), but he was very knowledgable, helpful, and straightforward. They also had a very reasonable price. The last 2 times I contacted them, they sent over Steve... Super nice guy, who talked me through the issues so I understood my options clearly, and they again charged a reasonable price. They are my go-to electricians now. Thanks guys!

Phone was answered promptly and professionally. Appointment was scheduled quickly with notification options - call first or ring bell. Electrician arrived at the scheduled time. Quick assessment and repair. Kept work area clean plus cleaned up some of the earlier damage. Took a look at a separate unscheduled issue and made some recommendations for me to consider. I will schedule a future visit (he recommended I purchase the fixture myself to make sure I get the exact style and features that I want although he said they could pick one out for me if I preferred) .

Very well - I have been using D'Anna for several years. They are always helpful and efficient. It's hard for me to say how they compare to other companies in prices, but they seem reasonable for the service they offer, and in the case of electricians, price takes second place to trust, in my opinion. And I definitely trust them to do a good safe job.

On two separate occasions, our electrician who we've used for several years has lately become too busy for "small jobs", so I began the dreaded task of searching for a new electrician. Luckily, I found D'Anna Electric Corp. Our job was not an emergency so Anthony came over the next day, took the time to thoroughly evaluate what we wanted, and offered options for us to consider. He sent me a quote within 2 days, and we agreed on a date, which he kept.
For example, we have one outlet in our master bedroom, and wanted to add two separate outlets. Anthony advised against the location of the third outlet based on where I wanted it for safety reasons. Which tells me he doesn't put profits ahead of safety since he could have easily agreed to do so. My husband and I are completely happy with just the two separate outlets now, and as it turns out didn't need the third.
Second, we have a ceiling shower light, ceiling room lights, mirror lights, and a room fan vent on a 4-box switch. Instead of adding a second separate outlet he suggested combining the ceiling shower light and ceiling room lights on one switch. He explained that the two lights would now turn on at the same time, but we would be able to retain the dimmer functionality, and the separate switch that controls our mirror lights. Anthony's suggestion made more sense then what we had in mind, and it was more economical for us.
Third, Anthony's suggestions for our outdoor motion lights were spot on. Based on listening to the issues we were having and how we use the backyard he suggested converting the backyard light into a motion detector, and suggested a new light with a more pointed beam along side our house. Now my husband doesn't have to call me to turn on the back yard motion detector light when he's outside at night, and the side motion detector light illuminates the side alley well, and is no longer beaming through our window.
There were no problems with the fan installation. His associate employee, I believe Steve (unsure of name) who actually did the work was prompt, professional, thorough, and remained focused on getting the job done.
I'll definitely call on Anthony again in the future. In fact, we want to have him return soon for another exterior light we've had problems with, but forgot to mention it to him at the time.

Fantastic service. I called with an "urgent" request to fix our condominium's front door intercom/locking mechanism, and they agreed to come the next morning. That's unheard of. John was assigned to our job, and he showed up right on time and went straight to work. He was extremely friendly and patient (and even offered to get me coffee when he took a quick break while waiting for a part to arrive). We did not know the cause of the problem, so he had to spend some time testing and investigating... His assessments were accurate and he was able to fix everything very quickly. He went above and beyond by providing new light bulbs for our outside lights, replacing old rusty screws with new ones, etc. When finished, he cleaned up the site and left it in better condition than he found it. He kept me updated throughout the day, and walked me through everything that was done, step by step. John is very knowledgable and clearly cares about what he does - he was determined to figure out the problem and fix it for us in the same visit; where most other services would give up and suggest coming back for a second appointment, John refused to give up until everything was perfect! And it was. I will definitely call D'anna again for any electrical work, and highly recommend them to others.

D'Anna arrived at just after 10 a.m. on Monday and went to work. They finished a little before 1pm and the new fan is in place and working. The 2 guys on site were excellent and ndash; I hardly knew they were here and I noticed that Anthony paid a visit (I noticed Anthony's car parked outside) about half way through. After they finished working the guys cleared away and cleaned up and ndash; If you hadn't seen them you wouldn't have known they were ever here! All in all well worth the money and the wait! I would recommend to others too.

we heard a loud, cascading popping sound across our ceiling and lost power in part of a room when the circuit breaker tripped. D'Anna came out within a couple hours, thoroughly inspected everything and couldn't have been nicer or more responsive. will definitely use them again.

We had lost partial electrical power to our home. First we called PSEand G thinking and hoping it was a street to home power line issue. PSEand G came and said it was an "in-home" electrical issue. So we needed an electrician. We called D'Anna Electric because they were nearby and their Angie's List Rating was very good. They picked up the phone right away (just after 5:00 PM), asked about our issue, then gave us a convenient, before work, 7:00 AM time slot for the next morning. Our D'Anna representative was prompt (a little early even!) and solved the mystery in the first 10 minutes...our 100+ year old Magnolia tree was the culprit. Over time the wires from the street pole rubbed against a limb to the point of exposing raw wire that had been embedded in the limb. We told him about PSEand G's diagnosis. Our D'Anna rep said he would call and talk to PSEand G to notify them of his findings as it would need to be resolved immediately. Our D'Anna rep was informative, helpful and went above and beyond what was necessary when he insisted that he call PSEand G on our behalf.

The electrician was able to fix the light in the mudroom pretty quickly, but the issue in our daughter's bedroom was a real bear. He worked for six hours straight, having to drill through two walls to rewire and connect the circuit. But, he was really careful and generated only the smallest amount of dust. Afterward, he cleaned up after himself and made sure everything was back in place.
This was the best experience that I've ever had with an electrician. He was thorough, hard-working and thoughtful. I was really worried that we would be hit with a crazy bill afterwards, but for six hours of hard work, $680 was very reasonable. Absolutely, we would recommend them and use them again!

Electrician was prompt, explained the work that needed to be done and why/how he was doing the repair. His explanation was welcome because we live in a condo that has specific requirements. I appreciate the time and care he took to do the repair correctly as well as his explanation of the work to be done.

Steve from D'Anna arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule and we walked through what was to be done. He tackled the hardest items first and explained that it was hard to secure the fixtures to studs in certain cases and it would be a challenge but do-able. They were charging by the hour and I was a little skeptical about the pace of work but Steve didn't take any breaks and completed all work efficiently. I was very pleased with the result, the only downside was it was more expensive than I anticipated but it was done correctly the first time.
