Called to have them come out for an estimate, scheduled an appointment for Sunday 4-12 15 12:00 to 2:00, and was told the day before, he would be here closer to 1:00. We had an obligation at 3:00 we waited until 2:50, had to leave, called and were told to leave a list of the items we needed addressed. Pat called and said he could not find #32, we are #42, but he made it here. After ten days called to ask about the estimate, its been 2 weeks, no reply. If he didn't want the work he should have just said so.
Regarding the Company response, it is completely fabricated. He never called to say he was running late. I called them. The woman who answered the office phone did call me back, after calling Mr. Allen to find out how much longer he would be. The only time he called was when he was on my street looking for #32, already well late. I never once requested to be part of the demo crew let alone insist. I simply said I could cut the garage to be demolished at the roof and walls where they attach to the house, ahead of his work, and there was no further mention of it in the conversation. In my review, I tried to be fair and only include the facts of my experience. I feel compelled to respond again because subscribers should know all of the facts.
"I arrived at the member's house and yes, I was running late due to traffic. I did call to tell them I was running late and the member said he had to leave. I said I would still do the estimate and call him while on site. When I called, the member told me he wanted to be part of the demo crew up on the roof which I couldn't allow due to insurance guidelines. He kept insisting he help with the demolition and it was a request I could not fill. I didn't send him an estimate because I thought he didn't want us doing the job because I could not accommodate his request."
"I had spoken to this member twice and discounted the project total twice: first for being an Angie's List member and a second time when asked to "do a little better on the price". I had scheduled my crew to start this project and the member called back and asked for an additional discount the night before. I couldn't further discount the project without losing money and told the member I was unable to perform the work for less. We at Ace Masonry use the best quality materials and do our best to work with our customers' budgets. Unfortunately, in this instance, we could not."
