Steve Hover Garage Doors & Garage Door Openers

Very happy with Steve Hover's work. He came the same day; when he realized he was running a little late, he was conscientious about calling and letting us know. He quoted us a reasonable price on a whole new door but didn't try to upsell us. He repaired the spring and installed new cable, pulley, and rollers in about 3 hours. He worked efficiently, explained what he was doing, and answered questions. We will definitely use his services again if we have any more trouble with the door.

We have used Steve's services several times over the years to replace the lift motors on the both doors, to diagnose and fix operating problems, and, most recently, to replace a very old numeric keypad. In every case the work has been completed promptly, successfully and with true professionalism. We unhesitatingly recommend his services.

Could not have been better. Steve advised on the different quality of automatic openers. Installed the latest models. Cleaned and adjusted chains and tracks. Came back to demonstrate operation on New Year's Day! Extremely happy with the service.

Steve fixed it, serviced both the doors for less than $200. His recommendations were spot-on and he went above and beyond to fix the door and also took time to explain all the things he changed and why.

Excellent! He went above and beyond to figure out certain issues due to the wiring system in the house. He even changed my outdoor light bulbs!

Steve called me on a Monday night and came Tuesday morning. He had to go to PA to get the spring, but fit me in between other jobs. He installed the new spring, adjusted the door, and lubricated the tracks and rollers.

He was very good overall, he spent a long time explaining things when he came for the estimate and I never felt like he was rushing me or trying to pressure me into anything. We made an appointment for installation and he showed up on time and completed the work as expected. I really appreciated his attention to detail, and he took the time to show us how everything worked. The installation was clearly done by a professional and not some hack from a big box store. I would definitely recommend Steve to anyone looking for garage door work.

It was wonderful.  Steve came the first day to check the broken torsion spring, removed it and ordered a new one.  He came back the second day with the new spring and put it on.  He also checked and maintained the whole garage door, adjusted the screws, lubricate, etc., to make sure everything is working well.   Very detailed oriented and careful.  He did a wonderful job. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Called steve on a sunday early evening around 6:30pm, he asked a few questions and asked if I needed him to come rightaway to get my cars out. He was prompt and arrived within about 30-45mins. He helped open the door so I could get my cars out. He said he could come back the next day to replace/fix the springs. I also wanted him to add 3 struts for the door. He said it would be 350$ for the spring, and 150$ for the 3 springs. Since he had already come, I asked him to just do the springs, since it seemed to be a little expensive. He then told me he could do the spring and struts for 400$ even. He came the next day and eplaced the garage door spring ( 2 springs) and added struts on the garage door. He used 2 new strust, however the third strut he added was a steel angle which did not go the entire length of the garage door!!

When he came in the evening to collect the payment, I told him that is not acceptable. He claimed that was what he quoted the price for!!! I didn't want to argue with this person, paid him the money and sent him away. He claimed he will be back in a week to replace it with a regular strut  -- you know what happens..... EDIT: 05/15/2015: Steve came back and replaced the third strut with a proper strut. Am happy with Steve's services.

It went quite smoothly . He is knowledgeable, honest and efficient. We will hire him again without hesitation ...Steve takes pride in his work. Thank you Steve.

I scheduled an appointment for Steve to come out and inspect my father's garage door.  He was very professional and responsive.  It was an old door, so he needed to get some additional materials for the repair.  The door now works like new.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to my family and friends.

Steve returned my call the following business day and was able to come out later that morning. The repair went quick and Steve replaced safety sensor and lubricated the tracks.

Steve was awesome! We called him after our spring snapped on our 20 plus year old opener. Steve was able to come out within a day. He was courteous, professional and took the time to answer all of our questions. We made the decision to replace our openers and Steve came out three days later to do the installation and service work. We were so impressed with the quality of his work. Even more impressive was how nice of a guy he is. We will definitely call on him when we get new doors in a few years.

Called Steve a few hours ago to schedule an appointment, he was available today , came right over and fixed the problem we were having with our garage door. He noticed the previous garage door co. did not secure the opener to the wall properly so reinforced the mounting for us! He price is very reasonable, he was professional and got the job done quickly. We will definitely use him again!

Steve showed up soon after I called about my non-working garage door opener. He diagnosed a faulty circuit board that he had to order. Within two days, Steve came out with the part and installed it. The door opener worked and works fine. Steve was friendly, courteous and extremely competent.

the cation of theMy garage door stopped opening. Steve responded to my call, and came that same evening at our convenience. He diagnosed the problem as a broken spring, and agreed to replace it the next day. As he was working on the door he noticed that the rollers were dangerously worn out. He had to start all over with the spring replacement. His work was clean, methodical and thorough. He explained everything that he was doing, and provided lessons on proper garage door hygiene. Unfortunately, another problem arose the next morning. A link on the door opener chain broke. Steve not only fixed that, but made some changes in he way the opener was hung and wired, that will reduce the likelihood of a recurrence. There was no charge for his second visit. despite the fact that the problem on the second day was not the result of faulty work on his part. His work was spectacularly neat , and showed a respect for his craft. This was an example of excellent customer service. The biggesgt thing I notice that my garage door opens and closes more smoothly and quietly than ever before.

He came over the next day and confirmed that was indeed the problem--i.e. one spring had broke. He told me my door had two springs. He told me that he could just replace the broken spring for $275 and for $75 more he could replace both since the other was old and might give me problems in the future. He went to his supplier to get the exact springs needed and came back to replace it, all within a few hours. He always takes the time to answer questions and gives me advice how to maintain my garage door and electric garage door opener to extend the life of the garage door.
